The TRS2 left the LIghtning standing with only 1 engine on afterburn.I worked with guys who worked on the TSR2 at Weybridge and in my years at Dunsfold I had the story confirmed by numerous sources (including a test pilot) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Is that 'Over the Top?'And Airfix didn't supply a stand with my kit and if I'm not mistaken was from the first issue of this kit. No stand slot either but this was under the 'stewardship' of Humbrol and stands sadly had long since disappeared from Airfix kits so seeing as I had a small supply of the new Hornby Dog-Fight Double stands available I decided to use 1 of these. And thank you James for the info, I had heard those rumours too and with the box artwork depicting that event, it inspired me to try and recreate it in the only art form I know - modelling !!!
