Rog RJ
Before you do anything else, disconnect the Elite from the track and power supply and test that every button and control knob moves OK and that they aren't stuck down.

96RAF
There is a basic servicability test to try in that you Press and Hold the LOCO button and power up. Release the button when you see Hornby on screen and wait. You will get a message saying it has passed the EEPROM test or not which means the basic internal gubbins is working. From there you can then press every button on the box and expect to see a corresponding number code on screen. Once finished playing with that power down and up again per normal. Of course if the drop test has done serious internal damage it will likely be purely mechanical damage and could be as simple as a cracked PCB, which may respond to soldering repairs. Drop testing does not normally affect software or how the machine boots up unless there is mechancial damage to a chip/ its pins/pcb tracks/etc. If you want to examine the internals then how to take your Elite to bits is detailed in a web site article linked to in my signature.Rob

96RAF
I would recontact them and tell them that after they reportedly fixed it it is still broken and what the problem is.Rob
Fishmanoz
I would first check that it hasn’t been returned to you in Classic mode and, if so, change it to Standard mode as per the manual and see how it goes then.
96RAF
If Hornby updated the firmware to v1.44 during the repairs it should boot into Standard mode but worth a check.Rob
