Hornby Turntable DCC Problem?

RDS

Recommended Posts

Having converted a Brand new Hornby Turntable To DCC following Hornby instructions, Wiring it in to my new layout(Again Hornby way),

Using Railmaster and elink-Created layout, have turntable set com 20, it will work and rotate, so I know encoder wiring is correct (having reversed grey and orange to rotate correct direction)

It will only run when I am running a loco on the track, when it rotates it will only go in one direction, once or twice, and then becomes unresponsive, i have noticed that once it powers up and rotates , power stays on but the turntable remains static, power stays on , i have to unplug power supply- any advice?

These two previous threads have been specifically written for members requiring support for the Hornby R070 TT. I suggest reviewing them and implementing their recommendations. Then come back here if you are still having issues.

It will only run when I am running a loco on the track.

Can you expand a bit more on that statement. If wired correctly, the TT should function completely independently from any dependency on loco movement. Where have you connected the TT decoder red and black wires?

.

Please just don't say "to the track".........where in the track layout? on a main loop track piece or a siding for example. Is there a completely unbroken track length (no intermediate points) between the track where the TT decoder is connected and the track where the eLink is connected. If not connected to the track, are you using a DCC Bus for power distribution to your TT decoder.

You are not reading my request for info, I did say please do not just say "to the track". I'm asking you what track location on the layout, which is something completely different. I'm just trying to ascertain whether you are trying to get power from a track piece that will inherently lose power when the TT rotates.

.

As I said in my first reply. Follow ALL the recommended guidelines in the two recommended threads. These were created by forum members that are using the R070 TT and have ironed out all the operating issues. Ignore the Hornby instructions and follow their instructions instead.
