2e0dtoeric
Read the manual, it tells you how to reset the controller.Try that, and see what happens then. There's not much point in trying to contact Hornby until Tuesday, after the Bank Hol. Chrissaf
Have you tried pressing the 'Escape Key' when 'Error' is displayed on the Elite LCD?
stewart_lanc
that would be ok if it would go past hornby on screen it just goes straight to error so even though i have read the instruction manual i cant get to reset anyway
96RAF
Try booting it up like this!Hold the LOCO button whilst plugging the power in, release when you see the Hornby screen. The Elite will carry out a self test and advise pass or fail.Every character will appear have appeared on screen and if you get a pass then you can press every key and speed knob and get a response. This is not a reset procedure, merely a test procedure to see if certain things are working. Please report back if this works for you. Once you are finished playing, pull the power and reboot as normal.Rob
Fireman_Ian
Closely inspect the track output terminals to check if there isnt perhaps a strand of wire from your cable to the track left behind and touching where it shouldnt.
96RAF
I don’t suppose there is any science in this but I have heard of folk putting errant electronics goods in the freezer to ressurect them, however trying this is at your own risk as condensation will form inside and damp electronics and live electricity is definitely not to be recommended.Rob

2e0dtoeric
Freezing electronic gadgets?? No, RAF, not advisable. My wife accidentally froze the tv remote when getting some veg out, and forgot to put the remote down first. It never worked again.
