Ard Lochan
Can someone reccomend a small DCC decoder for this, Direct fit. I have tried a Hattons and a Lais but both are too wide so I can`t get the body back on. I have also tried a DCC concepts decoder but as it has a harness, same problem. WilliamDavid
Will the decoder not fit in the smokebox under the chimney?
Fishmanoz
This sounds most unusual. I cannot remember anyone reporting previously not being able to fit a decoder in a large steam loco such as this one.
96RAF
There are several FS decoder installations herehttps://www.hornby.com/uk-en/hornby-dcc/decoder-installation-guidesRob
Ard Lochan
It is not that I don`t know how to do it, The two direct fit I have are too wide and the wired chips wires are far too long, also the body is a very tight fit when replacing on the chassis. I have five other loco drive scotsmans and never had a problem with fitting chips. What I am going to try is this: Unscrew the socket and put it at an angle so that the sides of the body miss the edges of the chip and insulate, Regards, Ard
