Forum-1211528
I have verious DCC fitted locos running on my layout but they are steam and diesel locos then i have verious Electic locos running under live analogue Triang overhead is it safe and fine to use these together as the two systems are separately powered?? 🤔
Howbi
You cannot connect 2 controllers to the same track, especially DCC and analogue, fire and brimstone will result........HB
Chrissaf
I should imagine that live overhead still uses the rails as the return path, thus there is no electrical separation between the two systems.
96RAF
The live overhead will use both rails as a return path, so just putting an overhead loco on a DCC track will generate a dead short......and as HB said two ‘odd’ controllers on the same track rig will likely damage one or both controllers and anything standing on track. Rob
Fishmanoz
Just in case there is anything unclear in HB’s, Chris’s and Rob’s replies - no, you cannot run these locos simultaneously on the same track under any circumstances whatsoever!
