GranTurismo
Hi, was wondering if it’s possible to use 2 powerbase straights within a track. I am thinking of using 1 powerbase as a normal straight while the other serves as the powerbase as it’s intended to be.
Andy P.
As long as the two lanes remain separate from each other it should work.If you don#t need the power bits you can open it up and take them out.
GranTurismo
Thanks Andy! I am thinking of buying 2 standard sets and combining all the track pieces to make a longer track. My concern was that the circuitry would be affected if I use both the powerbase straights.
Andy P.
If you discover one controller controlling both cars turn one of the powerbases around. :-)
gorp
if you remove power from the red lane on one and the green lane on the otheryou can have 2 different controller locations for analogand powerpack per lane not sure if it would work as well if using arc airbecause you would probably want to use tablet or phone for lap countingbut if red and green lanes are power separately, 1 tablet may be able to handle 2 powerbases of course you can also use a standard analog lap counter in place of a tabletso no need for lane power separation personally would not stick 2nd powerbase in just to add a full straight to trackinstead would acquire a pair of 1/2s
Andy P.
I didn't get the impression GrandTurismo is using an ARC product. For the record though: While it is technically possible to split the ARC AIR sensors it is not without soldering and taking everything apart.Using 2 ARC AIR powerbases on the same layout (where there are only 2 lanes) is not possible and really not necessary as the circuitry prevents power surges.gorp's idea of using alternate lanes though to allow drivers on different parts of the track though is possible with standard power bases and pretty common. You can use the ARC ONE brake mod to even combine them with the ARC ONE for lap counting, timing and pitting.
