Ard Lochan
I have bought myself a set of Dapol long wheelbase tipping wagons in Network Rail livery of which there are five. Now the problem is that they are heavy, about the same as ten to twelve coaches.Of the ten or so diesel locos I have not one of them will pull them round third radius track. I have tried some of my bigger steam locos and they manage to pull them without problem.I hyave a Lima class 37 that pulls the rake with ease but it is so noisy that it gives me a headache, so the question is can anyone reccomend a Hornby diesel with good pulling power? Cheers, Ard
96RAF
My R2645 Class 56 with centre motor and twin bogie drive weighs a ton and (sic) pulls like a train.Rob

2e0dtoeric
Or the 40, really heavy loco, and twelve-wheel drive (one 'idler' axle on each bogey). The Bachmann 66 is a good hauler, too, but you designated Hornby.
96RAF
Most Railroad diesels are single bogie drive and very light so read the spec sheet carefully.Rob
