Has LC&DR pointed out there's the full body and chassis kits availabl. or are you after things like buffers couplings chimneys domes smoke box handles, whistles safety valves steam heating &vac pipes or wheels. In which case you need to look at Alan Gibbon, markit, Brassmasters, wizards models, maybe southeasten models, eileens emporium. is good for tools glues solders paints fixings jigs etc. all are on the net most have down loadable pages wizard and eileens have on the site shops othersyou need to either email or phone. has for lamp brackets don't but them buy some staples the smaller ones from WH Smith's or the like, and cut to size Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

LCDR Posted December 8, 2019 Share Posted December 8, 2019 So far as I know no-one makes a bespoke detailing pack, like the old Crownline ones now long discontinued, so you will need to trawl through the component manufacturers that Fazy and WTD have descrtibed. I have not checked out the Railroad D49 model for accuracy of dimensions, BUT the RailRoad Schools is not 100% accurate so that a common number of parts could be used. These were the only two models made before the body tooling was modified to represent the 'Hunt' sub class. The real Hunt type locos had a type of rotary cam valve gear. Lentz type, similar to the Caparotti valve gear. The Hornby Hunt locos retained the Walschaerts valve gear chassis from the Shire locos. The Railroad D49 is a Hunt type, but still has the Shire type chassis! The most accurate model, would be an old Tender Drive Shire body, on the Railroad chassis... The tender is possibly also not correct for both Hunt and Shire, as it is the tender from the B17 'Footballer' 4-6-0. I think that the Shires at least had a GCR type tender...
