Mike1943
I have just been given an R076 footbridge. The best place to put it on my !ayout is where there are 4 tracks. Has anyone any advice on widening an R076.Mike1943
LCDR
I haven't done this myself but I would suggest you will need to obtain a second kit and remove the straight middle section and fix that end to end between the top section of your bridge. Joining the sections may be a challenge as the sections look quite flimsy. I would also suggest that you may need to support it in the middle, between track 2 and track 3 something that would have been done now and again in real life to stop it sagging in the middle, which should be possible on straight track although may be difficult on a curve where there will be end and centre throw on carriages. The old Airfix / nowadays Dapol footbridge lent itself very well to this kind of modification, but these more delicate kits may not take well to this kind of adaptation. NormanQ4
@Mike1943 Here's a link to how I created something similar to what you are proposing a couple of years ago. https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/forum/footbridge-r076-3-into-1-does-go/
LCDR
Nicely done Norman, it looks very professional. I am unsure if this is what the OP wanted. I kind of thought he wanted to span four parallel tracks in one go.
walkingthedog
I extended a Dapol version to span 4 tracks without any central supports. /media/tinymce_upload/e5827e5369c51f375f572d9fa50e59c9.JPG
Going Spare
Check with Peters Spares - they may still have the span (floor) and railings mouldings available, but not necessarily in grey and green.GS
LCDR
The Airfix / Dapol girder footbridge looks much more robust.
