Cobra16
Hi all, I have an analogue system and wondering if I upgrade to digital or arc if the pacer system will work with either of them. I haven't got it yet but have only just found out about it. Any help would be appreciated. Thankyou.
gorp
After reading your question several times to try to figure out what you just found out about and might want to buy, guessing you are talking about the vintage classic track pacer which is just a more expensive replacement for the rubber band. Digital arrived in 2003 using wired controllers to change lanes. Arc is 3 powerbases that can use apps for control. Two are analog only ( do not change lanes.) with choice of wired or wireless controllers. One, arc pro is digital and can be switched to run analog, all while using wireless controllers. More info is found here and by searching the net.

I haven't used scalextric for many years and have just been reading regarding the pacer system which allows one controller to memorise your movements so you can then race against yourself with the other controller. So you can race on your own. I was wondering if there is anything like this with digital or arc? Thankyou.
gorp
Challenger was out in middle of first decade.Would beat you if set up properly after learnig the trackCame as analog but did convert one to digital but really pain to do and set up either way is time consuming, while crashes would force setting up again.Hard to find today and a rubber band can beat you too. gorp
It is my understanding that no system, other than challenger, memorizes the track, which was the question.
Poppa Wheely
Yes there is, The scalextric 7042 digital system allows you to pace up to 6 cars at programable speeds. You can further augment the system with different software like rcs 64 that will allow you to pit, fuel, tires, and damage control. However you will need to use an older laptop in order to run the software, windows 10 or younger. You will also need to buy a special cable that leads from the 7042 into your computer usb port. but once you do this, you will have the most realist racing expierence available.
