Kevin Hodges
I want to run a DCC fitted loco on my DC layout.I can't recall what CV value I need to change. Can anyone help please ?
Chrissaf
CV29I suggest making the CV29 value = 6 for DC enabled. But since 6 is typically the factory default value for CV29, you might find that the loco is already DC enabled, so just put it on your DC track and try it. 96RAF
Just be aware you will need to apply enough throttle to boot the decoder before it recognises it has to run on DC, so start up throttle will be higher than for normal DC locos.

Kevin Hodges
Thanks Rob. It's been a while since I ran DCC. How quickly we forget stuff. I could take the chip out, but it's rather a nice model and I don't want to break anything.
Yelrow
My TTS locos run on DC, straight out the box, but you do need more wellie to start them up.
Fishmanoz
John, for your info, earlier TTS came with DC Running as the default like most decoders. However, they changed that a while ago and the default is now DC Running turned off. So if you buy a new one, you’ll need to adjust CV29 (add 4 to whatever value is there, probably change from 2 to 6) if you want to run it on DC. They did this as some experienced DC Runaway. Yelrow
Fishy, hi, my days of new loco buying have long gone. More important to put food on the table these days.

Johnde
My TTS locos run on DC, straight out the box, but you do need more wellie to start them up. Not a bad thing as it also reduces top speed.
Peter Stiles
It's a bit disconcerting with a Terrier tho'. Once you've given it enough welly to get it started it rushes off like, well, a terrier...
