Flying Scotsman water tender

Hi all,

Anyone know where I can get a replacement Flying Scotsman water tender for a two tender set?

Not available as an official spare part, so ebay or retailers who split apart complete loco's. Probably very much premium priced.

Good luck with the tender, you are usually looking at £50 plus. I ended up getting the 'British Enterprises' one with the loco etc when I wanted one to recreate '4492 Dominion of New Zealand'.

On eBay today a Flying Scotsman's water tender £139.99 or the complete set loco and 2 tenders £122.99.

That is amazing, I have the earlier set that had the tender driven motor. So that means the water tender is worth more that the complete set. I recently converted the loco to loco drive and removed the motor from the tender. I know it is sacrilege, but it was a very cheap way to get the Flying Scotsman with two tenders.

Just to satisfy my own curiosity, were the additional water tenders for the Flying Scotsman produced in the LNER/early BR liveries as well as the BR blue & grey used on post-1968 excursions?

The Flying Scotsman water tender was, I think, only offered in LNER apple green (R075) and BR blue & grey (R098). However, I believe it is the same tender that has more recently been offered with A4 60019 Bittern (R3103) in BR late-logo green.
