96RAF Posted December 19, 2021 Share Posted December 19, 2021 The mechanism behind the switch is simply a triangle of bowed metal held in place with sellotape. As you press the switch the metal scrapes across the circuit board and keeps the contacts clean. If the Select has been sat around for some time there may be slight corrosion, which exercising the switch can clear.Failing that it may be more serious and claim under warranty is called for.Amazon have no repair facility so they will just send you a new one and request the old one back by printout of a label for the Post Office to action.I have a Select where the RH side keys don’t work nor the speed knob, so I know mine is seriously broken.
