Hornby select TTS sound and F5-F8

I bought a Hornby select and a loco with TTS sound.

All the sounds work fine except F5, F6, F7 and F8.

Loco speed and directions is good.

Any clues as to why F5-F8 arent doing anything ?

F5-F8 will only work when the loco is moving I believe.

F5 - Notch up

F6- Notch down

F7- Return to idle

F8- Thrash

Those Functions need F1 to be on before they will react.

The loco does NOT have to be moving as you can simulate a static power generator by revving the engine at standstill in a works siding.

F8 now works if F1 is on.

If you want to operate all 29 functions (F0 to F28) using your Select it needs to be firmware version 1,5 or better. If at startup the first number you see is less than 15 (10-14) then you can contact Hornby to get it updated for a cost of approx £15.
