Kettering Junction
Hi all, I’ve just purchased R30001 Princess Margaret Rose from TMS for a great price. However, I have noticed some retailers advertise a R30001X model. The X model is also on Hornbys website for nearly twice what I paid.Either I got a great deal or I’ve perhaps purchased an older model? I’m thinking the X model is maybe an upgrade? I’ve not seen this before on Hornbys model codes. Thanks!
Going Spare
The X suffix to a product number indicates that the model is factory-fitted with a decoder. So R30001 is exactly the same as R30001X except that it does not have a decoder, just a socket in to which a decoder can be plugged - i.e. it is DCC-ready rather than DCC-fitted. RDS
@MATTHEW (Posted - 01:17 20/2/2023)Moderator Note:It is in your own interest to have a unique user name. Could you please select ‘My Account’ towards the top right hand corner of your screen, then Community and choose a nickname in the ‘My Profile' tab, rather than your First name that has been automatically allocated by the system. We had hoped a Forum change was coming to prevent this automatic allocation but a manual change is required at the moment and there will be more than one member with your name. This request together with some other information for new posters is contained in a thread at the top of the General Discussion section called ‘Information for new members registering for the Forum’More details here
P-Henny
Just to add, that if you see RnnnnXS then that is a loco that is factory fitted with a Loksound Sound DCC Decoder.
