Simon -346261
Hi guys, I’ve bought a Bachmann EFE rail class 143, E83031, on the leaflet inside it says it takes a next 18-pin decoder and comes with a speaker already fitted, my question is, for HM7000, do I need a R7345 DCC sound decoder or a R7401 DCC decoder, I’m new to this,,,, thanks in advance,,
96RAF
If you want sound you use the N18TXS sound decoder and simply leave the speaker disconnected if there is one factory fitted in the loco. The noise comes out of the speaker but it needs a sound decoder to generate those sound. SteveM6
Simon, just be aware that the TXS next 18 decoders are a bit bigger than a ‘standard’ next 18. You need to check how much space you have inside the loco and possibly wait until the second generation decoders are produced (no timescale is known for that). Simon -346261
Thanks Steve, I’ve got it on order now so I guess I’ll have to cross my fingers and hope for the best,,,,,
M. Matthews
Looks to be a fair bit of space. Let us know how it goes!
Brew Man
There shouldn't be a problem with space, it's quite a large model.
