Dominic Thomas
With the recent interest in the new figures to support aircraft dioramas, perhaps we could use this heading to group our efforts. I plan to upload my initial efforts as soon as we finish shopping.

Dominic Thomas
My first attempt. This features the Airfix Spitfire with the Pilots in Conversation set plus the Groundcrew Painting co-opted as a servicing group.

Dominic Thomas
I just washed mine in warm soapy water then allowed them to dry in the sun. I had no problems applying the Humbrol acrylics after that.
Valhalla
They look Fab. Is it just the figures ModelU sell or do they do ground equipment as well?

Tour de Airfix
11 hours ago, Peter Stiles said: If I recall she did Land Rover repairs... I’m coincidentally just reading Tessa Dunlop’s book “Army Girls” in which one of the players, Barbara Weatherill (née Crorken) recalls her time in the ATS with Princess Elizabeth. Barbara says they learnt to drive and work on Bedford trucks, Austin’s and Austin K2 ambulances. I’m really enjoying the increasing availability of quality figures to add to our scale models bringing them more to life. A couple of years ago I built the Airfix Austin K2 Ambulance with the Princess Elizabeth decals but had to make do with a very iffy ATS figure to place behind the wheel. I’m sure there are probably better versions available today.

Warlord Games did a 28mm model of Lizzie and vehicle a few years ago; not exactly a useful scale for railways.
