paul71
Started this to put all different MKs and issues of the kit that's been done over the years in one place. iv got a few different kits to make and this one is the older mould from the BBMF set A50116 PA474 as phantom of the Ruhr, went together ok a few issues but nothing too bad a little bit of filler and time couldn't fix, my fault the side windows are slightly out of line i should have payed a bit more attention when fixing them in place and made sure they lined up with the canopy before they set and the small window in the nose i pushed in when handling it but the nose glazing wasn't fixed in place so i was able to get in from there and sort of put it back in place and glue it back in from the out side as usual it was painted using a brush

Ratch
I've built a few over the years. Many of the older ones were not photographed and did not survive the rigours of war (both Airfix and Matchbox). This one is the Airfix Dambuster 08004 kit built 20 years ago.

Ratch
A conversion of the 08002 to a B.II Avro Lancaster II assembled at the Armstrong-Whitworth facility, Sywell, from May 1942 to the end of 1943. The first Lancaster II left Sywell on 12th August 1942. 100 or so, of the 301-airframe production total, were built at Sywell until production was transferred to Bitteswell, north of Rugby. DS604 first flew on 1 October 1942 at Sywell and served with 61 & 115 squadrons before being lost over Frankfurt on 10/11 April 1943. Here she carries 61 Sqn codes.

I do have the Revell Lancaster and the Italeri Stirling, along with all three Airfix V-bombers but I've nowhere to put then when built. Especially as we're planning to move in 5 years - I'd rather they didn't get damaged. But then saying that, maybe I should build one, and if it gets broken I can just build another...

That's a very good point! 😁 A Stirling would be great. I'm actually surprised Airfix hasn't released a new tooling of all three four-engined RAF bombers from the war - I would have thought they'd have done that before the V-bombers to be honest. But maybe it's in the long-term plan. We do have a Libby to go with the B-17 now so who knows.

Much of my RAF collection is in fact Airfix. Sadly I don't have any Lancasters to show here.. Randall
Valhalla
I have the Tamiya 1/48 Lancaster in the stash. There's a good reason it's staying there 🙂 Ian
