  1. Is it true that the legendary Airfix box artist Roy Cross has passed away? I saw an online note earlier but not sure if it is true. I hope not, but I have always had the greatest admiration for his work; it had such a great influence on me. Ed
  2. Well done, they both look very good - and they bring back so many memories of seeing the real thing.
  3. That Autogyro from an Avro 504K looks great; not something I would be brave enough to attempt! I must admit that I mostly prefer older kits but that's partly because I either enjoyed making them as a kid, or for some reason I never got around to buying one back in the day. For that reason, the Vintage Classics range has been a bit hit for me and no doubt I will buy more as they continue to be released.
  4. That's already looking smart. Is the kit a TriStar 500?
  5. What colour primer do you recommend for underneath gloss white surfaces?
  6. Two excellent colour scheme choices, saw both countless times in my youth.
  7. Well done - does the ammo come with the kit?
  8. Another kit that escaped me in my youth so I was pleased it was released as a Vintage Classic. Did the kit fit together ok for its age?
  9. Good imagination shown there. I've seen some very nice 'what ifs' before but they are usually aircraft. I wouldn't have the knowledge or skill to take on a ship!
  10. Thanks, nice to see this. Another kit from my youth which I built badly! Hope to make a better job with the Vintage Classic! Incidentally one of the Bloodhound missile fusing buildings still exists at the former RAF Woolfox Lodge.
  11. Rapid progress and looking good.
  12. I look forward to watching your progress with those two kits. I have the Airfix TriStar in the loft along with a Revell DC-10. Your build might inspire me to start work on them!
  13. I really like the Kingscliffe diorama, especially as I walked around the old airfield many years ago when there was more evidence of the now long-gone field. Nice work. I must get some of those E-pens!
  14. Thanks, John - very interesting. I would consider five of those as a definite 'hit' - two I already have but would consider building them in alternative colour schemes. I know there's no guarantee that another customer would get exactly the same line up, but I'm impressed!
  15. Hello Mervyn / John, can you tell us what models you received, or perhaps the product codes, please?
