ellocoloco
UP really put some effort into PR and promoting the Company's heritage. The work put into restoring and operating 4014 and 8444 is to be commended.
dBerriff
UP close and personal! We would have the police out and the line closed here in the UK. Thank you - good footage. Edited September 22 by dBerriff
atom3624
Standing on the rails like that is what got several touring locomotives' permission nearly revoked until clear and better security was in place, in UK. 4014 BB is certainly impressive, and glad people have made the effort to restore, store and maintain her but one slight 'mishap' and it all comes tumbling down, enthusiasts or not. Aussie Fred
So the traindriver was signalling everyone to move back, not "waving" to them.
What About The Bee
That's my view as well Aussie Fred. His hand motion is "move to the side, move to the side". At the very end, he gives the ubiquitous American hand gesture of thanks (two fingers), when the very last id-10-T finally gets out of the way. Bee PS never in the Navy. Just very well read on naval matters. Edited September 23 by What About The Bee
What About The Bee
In another thread, I found that Locomotion No.1 had approximately 6.8 horsepower on Opening Day (under the assumption I did the maths correctly.) Union Pacific 4014 is stated to have 7000 horsepower. A ratio of ~ 1 : 1000 "Just slightly more ...." 🙃 I've been waiting days for this one Bee 1
