cooped
Over 500 entries on a thread about what we just bought in a little over a year. We are just a tiny slice of the whole so the hobby can't be struggling that much!

LCDR
Just completed a SE&CR class 'H' 0-4-4T, using a hacked about D*pol 0-4-2 chassis plus a extra pony truck using spare pony wheels so it looks like an 0-4-4 when really it is an 0-4-2-2! It just goes round second radius curves. It is carrying a Hornby Dublo R1 body lengthened and heavily modified, with white-metal chimney, safety valves and Westinghouse air pump, as it is meant to be a push pull fitted example. I have nearly finished a second one, and have enough components for a third. It has been fully lined out and the varnish is drying as I type this. This one is in late crest livery so it looks right hauling or propelling the Hornby Maunsell Push Pull set, but the others will be early emblem intending to work the ex LBSCR p&p set I made from Triang / Hornby short clerestory carriage bodies, and maybe the B'man Birdcage set when it appears next year. Now to build the DJH D1 I bought at York toyfair.

Mike70
LNER B1 (R2998X). New one off flea bay. Had my eye on it for a while. It was £10 cheaper than a second hand one in "Excellent Boxed Condition" from a well known box shifter.
walkingthedog
That can't be right Mike, according to some the only thing you get from fleabay is ripped off. Well done, I've had quite a few bargains from them.

Well done, I've had quite a few bargains from them. I haven't got it yet... but I'm confident it will be OK. It's from an flea bay shop in West Yorkshire. Can't believe they would still be in business if they didn't provide what they say they do.

walkingthedog
The only trouble with these trees is that they are far too small. A 76 ft tall tree which isn't particularly tall would be a foot tall in OO. Most of the are about 3 inches which equates to about 19 ft which is pretty small for a tree. Graskie
I don't suppose a dog bothers much about what size a tree is, though, does it, WTD?
walkingthedog
No it doesn't but to my knowledge there aren't any dogs that have model railways.
cooped
They probably all electrocuted themselves missing trees.
Graskie
I thought they sometimes pined for them, WTD. Oh dear! What have I started?
cooped
They tend to model the Barking to Wolferhampton line. Perhaps I should leave now.
cooped
Passengers struggle to get on and off the trains as they only paws at stations. Sorry
cooped
They usually go for small layouts as they love tail chasers. Of course the dogbone track plan is the favourite.

walkingthedog
I don't mean to put a spaniel in the works but this seems to have tailed off so I think it's time for a paws.
