kiltedscot
having converted ringfield motor to dcc I find it sticking and sometimes derailing when going into sidings, normal Hornby points fitted and also point clips fitted as per dcc layout. no problem with a new dcc fitted loco mallard
RDS
@kiltedscot That can sometimes happen if the wiring to the motor is a little too tight and not allowing the bogie to turn unrestricted.
Gregd99
A couple of questions/suggestions..... 1. Did you use a powerful decoder (not 8249) as Ringfields tend to draw a fair bit of current 2. stalling on points can be due to shorts but this should trip your controller and you don't mention that 3. have you checked that the pickups are working on all wheels? As the loco transits the points not all wheels might be connected at all times.
