DCC and N gauge

DCC has not a clue about how wide the track is so in theory at least you could run all gauges at once from the one controller, to resemble a model railway within a model railway within a model railway...but taking Rog's opinion it would make sense for

each gauge to have a separate circuit and thus separate controller.

Yes, you can connect a piece of N gauge track to the same controller and as long as you give your loco's different ID's, there is no reason why they will not both operate at the same time.

There is no need to switch the supply from one

track to the other - that is the beauty of DCC.
