Dosser16
Hi I am new to DCC. I have bought the DCC freight train set which I am making up using flexitrack. Can I also connect a piece of N gauge track and wire it to the OO track so as to run a DCC N gauge engine. Many thanks.
Rog RJ
You could if you wanted to but it may be better to have the DCC controller connected to one or the other, rather than having them both connected at the same time.
96RAF
DCC has not a clue about how wide the track is so in theory at least you could run all gauges at once from the one controller, to resemble a model railway within a model railway within a model railway...but taking Rog's opinion it would make sense for each gauge to have a separate circuit and thus separate controller. pidder
Of course, if both tracks are powered by the one controller, each engine would have to have its own individual number...unless the controller is switched only to one or other of the tracks...now you're confusing me... RDS
@Dosser16 Yes, you can connect a piece of N gauge track to the same controller and as long as you give your loco's different ID's, there is no reason why they will not both operate at the same time. There is no need to switch the supply from one track to the other - that is the beauty of DCC.
