modelman
I have a DCC fitted class 56 which I have weathered using an aribrush and some powder weathering and unlike my other weathered vehicles this one has completely stopped alltogether. I tried it on my mainline and service line and even tried to give the wheels clean put nothing is working. I have had some problems like this before with locos not picking up because of dirty wheels but when cleaned the locos run but not this one. Is there something I'm doing wrong or not doing? Or is this a case of sending it off for repair.
walkingthedog
Have you cleaned the back of the wheels and the pickups that rub against the wheels?
RDS
I am assuming it was working correctly before you sprayed it.If that is the case, it is almost 100% certain, as pointed out above, that you have contaminated the pick-ups and removing the spray from the relevant areas will sort out your problem. 96RAF
I would whip the body off and check for spray contamination as there are various circuit boards in there and easy ingress paths through the grilles, etc.
modelman
Yes it was working well before I weathered it. I'll take another look at it and see if I can clean the wheels and pickups. Can't remember where the pickups are located though.
modelman
I did have a problem with it before and I did check the insides but found no trace of contamination. It could just be the pickups and the wheels.
walkingthedog
The pickups usually rub on the back of the wheels.
