GWR Greg
I purchased mine just under two months ago. Switch on this a.m. no green light, no coms link. Transformer okay.I have 1amp & 4 amp. Returned to well-known store for replacement. Do many fail, how reliable are they?

Fishmanoz
Hi Greg, I am not an eLink user, I use Elite and RM, so I can only comment from what I see on the forums. Initially, it seemed that a number of eLinks were being replaced as faulty. However, more lately, this number has dropped. In fact, Alan's above is one of the few recently. More recently, it has become clear that a number of people have had difficulty configuring both their computers and RM in order to allow eLink to work. In fsct, I suspect that some of the early replacements may have been ok and it was these setup issues. But I don't know that to be the case, it is just a feeling from the posts I have seen. So my conclusion - eLink would seem to be a reliable piece of electronics. However, new users may need assistance with their computer and RM setup before the system works reliably for them. For those with difficult problems, Hornby Railmaster Support has been doing an excellent job to help them.

idlemarvel
I'm not gloating, but from a sample of one my elink has been very reliable for me. I have a nice simple windows XP setup which seems to allow me to avoid most of the operating system issues others have had. Hornby Railmaster Support (HRMS) are top notch. rpjallan
The first thing I would check in that situation is where the transformer plugs into the eLink.
