walkingthedog
It can be quite a long time. I believe the club is run by one man and his dog. They are usually very good at answering the phone though.
Fishmanoz
One woof, it will turn up later this month, 2 woofs and it won't be until next. Does seem to be rather long though.
walkingthedog
Yes it does. I've rung them a couple of times and they answered straight away.
Bulleidboy
I've always found they answered the telephone straightaway. I have always renewed my membership by phone, can't be bothered filling out forms and posting. Having said that, I have just received my notice that renewal is due - do I want to renew or not? It's not the cost - I have all the club magazines from No.1 - but they take up space and I have always taken the club loco - not really much use to me, but I suppose it is a cheap way of keeping the grandchildren happy. Bulleidboy
Just rang to renew my membership - so this post is for information to members. The Club admin. is located at Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. They are currently moving to Margate, and the move will be completed by next week. To renew your membership by phone you will need to ring 01843 233525 - I was told I can do this next week - December.
walkingthedog
Interesting that they are moving to Margate BB as apparently the Margate offices are going to close and move to where the warehouse is, rumour has it. Must be right it was in the Guardian. Thanks for the info.
Bulleidboy
I know - I heard a rumour they were moving to the Isle of Wight and that PP was in charge of security!! (joke) - It's difficult to know what to believe until it actually happens. However in this case the young lady said they were in the process of moving, and that everything would be back to normal next week - using the number I mentioned above. walkingthedog
The voucher or catalogue has always been the best value. Loco is only worth about a fiver.
camokieren
needed a loco as setting up from scratch
walkingthedog
I'd start with a slightly better loco. It's a bit quick. There's no need to spend a fortune. How about a small starter set.
Bulleidboy
The voucher or catalogue has always been the best value. Loco is only worth about a fiver. The catalogue is currently on offer for £0.50p.
walkingthedog
In that case take the voucher. Mind you a new catalogue is imminent, I think.
gilbo2
The new voucher says "to spend on exclusive club models", so I read this as no longer valid on hornby.com

Fishmanoz
Maybe an email to the one included in the Collector Club section of this website might help? Or a phone call?

DMU mad
I agree with the above, there should be a way for them to extend your membership until the end of 2015. On another note, I haven't received an email from the Collector Club since June this year! And the December magazine has yet to arrive. Anybody else had this?
