Alex.C
Using digital select controller. Followed all set up instructions and is connected to power and to track using a DCC power clip. Seems like it is getting power to the track because the loco is making a humming noise and the digital LEDs' work, but the loco's don't move. They are DCC ready and functional with old DC controller. Any Help? Thanks.
Rog RJ
You need to fit DCC decoders into the locos. DCC ready means they have a socket fitted inside them ready to have a decoder plugged in. There will be a blanking plug in the socket which has to be removed before you can plug a decoder in.DCC fitted means the locos already have a decoder fitted. poliss
Rog is right. Don't run them on DCC anymore until you fit a decoder into the socket.
Fishmanoz
Yes, you can very easily burn out a DC motor sitting on a live DCC track. If if you look at your Select instructions, it will tell you you can run a DC loco on address 0 but you still run the risk of burning it out as we've said. morairamike
I sometimes think that some posts are wind ups. Notice the originator hasn't come back on this. DCC ready = SOCKET fittedDCC Fitted = Decoder in that socket.
Zues
I think the OP is genuine he just has not grasped the fundamentals of DCC operation, allthough i can see why some people might think that way.

Fishmanoz
Agree with john, it's not 1st April, just a very basic question asked and answered - you need to fit a decoder.
