  1. No ballast Anything else goes
  2. I hear you, i'm in the same boat. My plan for the time being is to have an isolated section of the layout to just shunt about on, using an hm6000 for power and control. Seems the least drastic compromise. A select and dongle sort of defeats the point of the simplicity of app control, although it is appealing. I live in hope that the 6 pins will be available long before September ‘25!
  3. Many thanks for the advice. I’d wondered if the bogie needed to drop out, I’ve not quite figured that part out yet. Will have another go in the daylight.
  4. Have you got any tips for putting the drive shaft back in? Mine popped out and I’m really struggling. I emailed Hornby cs about getting it sent in for repair, but it’s been nearly two weeks without reply. I’d rather do it myself to save the hassle but I don’t want to break anything and two of those invisible washers have already wandered off.
  5. Me too! This would make excellent sense for accurascale and the scale as a whole. It doesn’t look like Hornby will produce one anytime soon. I might send them a message.
  6. Sorry, thought I posted a video of the solution but it was just a video of the problem!
  7. Would a piece of insulating tape on top of the motor be ok to hold the wires down and away from the flywheel? Also worth noting there’s a cheeky transparent washer for each screw between the pcb and chassis.
  8. Eurostar 373 Deltic something Royal Mail perhaps I don’t model a particular era. I just like the flagships.
