  1. The original BOAC kit had the wings and lower fuselage as silver -- presumably NMF. I agree that white is more likely and better from a operational point of view, but silver (NM or dope) was big in those days.
  2. I'm a bit late on this one (actually, I thought I'd already commented! đŸ˜ŗ), but my opinion is definitely behind the inclusion of full sets of crew figures in all kits. I'd go further: every aircraft kit should have crew and, where appropriate, the option to be built with undercarriage up as a fundamental part of the kit. What I object to, most strongly, is manufacturers taking away the choice of displaying the aircraft in flight. I realise that a lot of modellers like to build their kits in a parked condition, and others with the guts of the airframe hanging out to display their skills. Fine, but I don't, and I am heartily sick of that being "expected" as the way to build a model. I want my aircraft to look like an aircraft doing what an aircraft does, and all I'm asking for is that option, which a lot of manufacturers -- unfortunately, even including Airfix in some cases these days -- seem determined to deny me. Yes, I can (and do) get aftermarket crew, but I can't find parts for retracted undercarriage, and some kits require major surgery to have the gear doors closed. So cast my vote my mandatory crew figures for everything except drones 😆 -- oh, and while I'm thinking about it, how about a decent female crew figure for the Angel Interceptor? 😉
  3. Blast! There goes my hope of picking one up at Telford, with possibly some am stuff if it had been out long enough. ☚ī¸ Like many others here, I'd be very interested in some later MiGs, especially the -19, 23/27 and 25. The Flogger will be fun to see as a kit or kits because there are so many variants with different noses, intakes and exhaust nozzles -- perfect for a modular moulding. It'd also be nice to have the capability to make licensed variants of the aircraft from other countries if there are any external differences. I'm particularly thinking of the Shenyang J-6 variant of the Farmer (and, of course, the Q-5 -- has that ever been kitted?); the Pakistani F-6 is one of my favourite aircraft from history -- a case of unwitting international co-operation before it became commonplace. Where else, back in the 60s and 70s, would you find a Chinese copy of a Russian aircraft with a British ejection seat and toting Sidewinders? 😎 Go on, Airfix, give us more MiGs -- even if they're not made by Mikoyan!
