  1. A thing of beauty at a very good price when combining the Spring Offer and some accumulated Hobby Points.
  2. Hi Pete, My RN medical was even more damning! After much toing and froing with coloured lenses and some contraption called a Martin Lantern (pinpricks of light) my red/green perception meant there were very few options left to me, not a pleasant experience and my RN service was short and not particularly sweet. In practice it's never been an issue in the ensuing 44 years! Regarding EDSG, I shall probably just use what I've got in the paint stash and see how it sprays through the airbrush. Whilst rattle cans are a great time saver, my spray booth is small and the garage alternative is not welcoming at this time of year.
  3. Hi Pete, +1 for those with 'colour perception difficulty '...! In the modelling world it hasn't caused any issues, however it did have some career impact many years ago. I also have the Seafire and would be interested in a rattle can alternative, in the meantime I have the Fleet Air Colours set from Hataka which will probably be airbrushed on when the aircraft hits the workbench. Nick
  4. Thanks Ratch, I had the same query. Sadly, Airfix haven’t replied to the email I sent them last month asking the same question.
  5. Likewise re checking on purchase. I have had to contact Customer Services several times this year and apart from one damaged part (from a 2023 release) which they did not have, they have come up trumps. My last issue, where I supplied all the information they required generated a reply where they asked for the same information again! I resisted the temptation to vent and complied, however I think they could make it easier for everyone if there was a template that ensured data capture in one hit and in a format that assists Airfix. I still think they do a good job and in about 90% of my contact have turned the part round in less than a week, on one occasion I emailed them on the Monday and the part arrived on the Wednesday.
  6. The Brighton store has a small selection, somehow a 1/72 Cromwell leapt off the shelf and came home with me!
  7. Hi Richard, I've noticed the same, and as a returnee to the hobby it was a little irritating... Having purchased and built a few kits, the stash of paint is growing and there are some reasonable substitutes that are close enough to what is specified. There are also some paint manufacturers who sell themed packs of paint that can work out cheaper than buying them individually. Nick
  8. Looks like a winner, the website is showing 'Last Few' already!
  9. Very smart, I've got one on the go and will be pleased if I can getting it looking like yours.
  10. I've just invested in some Stanley SortMaster Organisers from Halfords https://www.halfords.com/tools/storage/tool-boxes/stanley-sortmaster-organiser-140965.html They can be stacked and the internal storage is easily configurable with removable partitions. Also happy to use any suitable items of sturdy packaging
  11. The new Airfix F-35 which was delivered today. Initial inspection looks positive for a quick and easy build, although I’ll pass on the included paint and glue… Possibly a blemish on the canopy which will hopefully polish out.
