  1. I agree There are also a lot of sound cards that would fit in more than one loco. It would be an easy task for Hornby to access how many sound cards are needed, (if they have not already done so) where a TTS Sound kit would fit in 2-3 locos, make the card and speaker kit so that it fits in them all.
  2. I bet you learnt that from your mum! Mum when's tea... it will come when it comes ;o)
  3. You may notice I dropped out in September last year. The carrot has withered. It is beyond a joke I think. Winning the lottery might have a better chance than this sweep (Sorry RDS) As WTD one said (he will love this) it will come when it comes.
  4. Hi Graskie/RDS Thanks for raising this issue another way. I have asked many times and for more than two years for the loco boxes, usually on the right to be smaller. But, the main layout screen is of great importance, especially due to all the extra items added to RM in the last few years. Rather than zoom itself what I asked for was the facility to see more of my layout by reducing the track icon pieces in layout design from 50x50 to give an option of 50x50, 40x40 and 30x30. In effect reducing to 80% or 60% for the last two options when going back to the main screen. It seemed easier to me to set the level either in layout design or in our master settings so it will always be viewed at the level set. To much screen space is taken up for spaces between points, even more so when using double slips. Points on the angle, signals, etc, etc. The layout design we have now is outdated, based on two even three years ago when we didn't have all these extra items on screen. With LD, when it comes, if it comes there will be even more. For those who want to see ID's of signals and points it is just a mass of items overlapping each other. However HRMS do it, a complete screen overall is needed so that we can see more of our layout. Buttons for locos do not have to have the text explanation, small icon images in the button can be easily used. Complex software as MS Word and Excel, graphics programs such as Adobe Photoshop, and others, have all done this. Once we know what an icon is we do not need big clunking boxes, small icons are all that is needed. The throttle is needed but could be narrower, it would not be hard to reduce and improve these items. Thanks for requesting the same another way. We want the same thing, I guess it doesn't matter how they do it so long as they improve it and make it look and work better.
  5. @HRMS I agree RAF96, the request to scale icons and buttons has been made many times. RailMaster is still the same screen layout as it was from the beginning. Yet there is so much more demanding the space we have on screen. These include three areas for consideration, although two (items 1 & 3) are very important 1 - The Loco boxes side of the layout. The boxes are to largeThe button icons are very big and could be much smaller use image instead of world in buttonsreducing these buttons will increase layout area on screen 2 - The icons at the top of the screen could be smaller, again increasing the layout area mid screen 3 - The main screen for our layout design The icons that make up layout in track design are 50x50 pixels and are far to bigdouble slips demand a large section in layout designpoints have to have a track piece between them to separate thempoints on an angle need more space so that the buttons are clear of other programmable itemssignals need to be clear of point buttonsif signals with feathers are used they demand more spaceusing bi-directional tracks means even more screen with little room to add themloco detection programmable blue boxes need to be clear of other programmable piecesif point/signal code boxes show then the whole layout is a cluttered and many item end upoverlapping The track pieces are very big and clumsey looking, they either need to be much smaller or the user should have the facility in the software to scale all layout design pieces from 50x50 to either 40x40 or 30x30 providing a 100%, 80% or 60% view on screen. With this option it will allow us to add extra track between the programmable items mentioned, minimising the risk of items being to close to each other and providing us with a more proportional layout view. The reduced sizes will also allow users with large layouts to see more or all of their layout on screen. Please HRMS
  6. 2x boxes of 12 Cobalt Digital iP Slow action point motors. 😀 ehattons
  7. I think most of the icons are far to big, they take up so much room the layout screen is reduced as a result. We are used to working with icons, image MS Word and Excel if they had icons the size in RM and some of the small icons in Word and Excel do far more complex work. The point I feel is, people only need to see icons once and they know what they do, so why so big? The layout screen pieces are also very big, 50x50. If these were 30x30 or if we were given option of two sizes would be a big improvement. Do sensor and signal icons need to be as big? Sensor ones are just markers for where they are. Smaller buttons for points would be better also. As we move towards programming and then LD must are rarely clicked manually. We need them but they don't need to be as big. Those who cannot see all their layout now would be able to if loco boxes were smaller increasing layout area, and if layout area gave the option of 50x50 icon pieces or 30x30 icon pieces.
  8. That's the way to go WTD ;o) I am starting again from scratch but this time with P*co Code 100 Semi-Flexi, just ordered my first 16 lengths (although not got new layout boards done yet). I know it is a DCC point but with flexi track 3' long, I won't need as many droppers from the rails either. ;o)
  9. I have used SCARM to redesign my new layout. Saved files for various stages, using colour to show, reverse loops, points, proposed blocks, dimensions of layout board sizes etc. I found it very good and using Streamline Flexi track was so easy.
  10. @HRMS RM with Loco Detection. Although not yet launched may I ask HRMS to consider the following if you have not done so already Last carriage tags will be important, as mentioned many times in many threads these can be, the tender on a large loco, the last wagon on a goods train, the guards van on a goods train, the last carriage or brake carriage for passenger trains. If this category has not been included in LD may we ask that an additional category be added in the loco section, so that we can have, steam, diesel, last carriage categories etc. If not included in LD, although I think it possibly will, I note here for consideration. When we add commands for Loco's or All Locos, can we also issue commands relating to groups of locos, so as to easily avoid All Loco commands for tags to last carriages and target commands specifically to the groups we intend them for. Thank you.
  11. Hi WTD When using flexi track did you use a template or other method to ensure your radius didn't come tighter than say a radius 3 curve?
  12. In SCARM which Peco group do you use for 00 gauge? Code 75 or Code 100
  13. I will send a message to Adam to remove all messages other than the new updated list of commands and lock this thread keeping it just for reference. Please do not add any further comments to this thread. Hopefully Adam will remove all posts except the main list of commands added today and lock this thread, only to be added to by contacting an administrator. We can all use it as a forum reference tool and refer members back to it instead of having to keep cutting and pasting lists in other threads.
  14. Below are the LD commands in RM - 4-1-2016 On signal yellow On signal double yellow On signal flashing yellow On signal flashing double On signal flashing green On signal green On signal red For Loco(s): For train type(s): For forward direction For reverse direction For any direction Stop loco Stop loco on signal Resume loco on signal Reduce loco speed to Increase loco speed to Set to cruise speed Switch right point Switch left point Set clear signal Set danger signal Activate loco function Play sound file Run program file We ask HRMS to consider the following commands please Set Yellow signal Set Double Yellow signal HRMS you may also wish to consider the setting of the other flashing aspects in this set. Setting signal aspects to control speed of loco's to signal variations is going to be a very important part of automating the running of our trains. Above we can see the additional LD commands for signals. It is clear HRMS are totally commited to the advancement of the software and making LD a market leader in model railway control. It is also very clear, and we should be encouraged, that they are continuing to listen to our comments and requests. From all members of the forum 'Thank you and Happy New Year'.
  15. I will check tomorrow, just got PC set up today, temporary in wrong room and just adding Norton. I will check the LD commands in RM tomorrow ;o) Last comment on here, other than an update to follow!!!
  16. CREDITS - they go to HRMS not me, OK I prepared the list to help members in the first place but, ah ho When HB created the New Thread with the commands list I though what a good idea, lets keep it for those items. The missing items made sense to add but them.............. Apologies I guess to hosh, same questions he just got wrong thread! No further comments from me on here!
  17. I saw asome of your pictures WTD Very nice and very impressive. ;o) Thank you PJ, cheque's in the post as usual. Thank you WTD I won't tell you when I have not received it them. ;o)
  18. These are missing commands for LD which are needed for it to work effectively On signal yellow On signal yellow-yellow PLUS Set signal yellow (Extra Caution) Set signal yellow-yellow (Caution) Yellow and Yellow-Yellow aspects are allowed in our signals in RM, they are also programmable in program routes They are essential for LD at present the following only are included: On signal green On signal red PLUS Set clear signal Set danger signal
  19. I saw asome of your pictures WTD Very nice and very impressive. ;o)
  20. Hi WF no fall out and not meant in any way to sound as such. I agree also with your comments regarding competing with the company in BEER. ;o) Making use of the space we have is so important, we would all love a Rod Stewart wallet, I mean space and layout. Compromise comes in many different options. ;-) Getting things past the wife or getting them to see things as we do is not always easy. My situation is probably made worse because the room I have for my trains WAS her craft room!
  21. I agree with what you are saying WF but, trouble is so many of us are limited for space and try put into that space as much as we can. Having said that I find myself maybe in the middle of the road, my first layout, my current layout, 7' by 4'6'' over a single divan bed has a lot of standard points in the sidings in the middle (space issues). Due to my disability I having to rely on my wife and another person to lift the layout twice a year when we have visitors, or asking for it to be lifted when I need to work on the underside. For me it is hard replying on others but worse when I see my wife struggling lifting it and putting it back down. This is brought me to a complete rethink and a complete new layout. Running on 3 walls, hinged on the longer wall. But, more importantly no small/tight/unrealistic points, only curved and express points. Hopefully with quiet, smooth changing point motors not click/click solenoid ones. I guess many coming into model trains will experience similar problems, what can they get in the space they have, (hence the reason the standard tight points were made) , and after a period of time we learn and think... I wish I had done things a different way and avoided them or other issues.
  22. Thank you LC&DR a great reply as always Peco I think will be where I look next. I find the curved points frustrating, they are very good and space saving, but they only make curved points to join neatly work with two radius. This is where I use flexi track to try keep bends running as neatly as possible.
