I recently collected - at long last - a Bachman 2-HAP ages after ordering it! The unit number is 6061. So, logically the DCC is would be 6061. However, with the loco on the programming track my Railmaster/Elink combination would not program the loco to 6061. Every other number was fine, but starting with 60 was a big no-no. I am assuming it's because accessory decoders use 60 as a starting point So unless others have any better ideas I have used the head code instead of the unit number. Am I on the right track?

No it isn't. I was told by a shutter driver many years ago that on shunters the cab is always at the front. it makes driving easier. -
Help With 4-TC and Zen Decoder
tony_forward replied to Kestrel757's topic in Hornby RailMaster & TrackMaster
My 4-tc lights are on f5. zen decoders MUST apparently be programmed on a programming track, not on the main. i did my class 33 and the 4-tc at the same time on the programming track So the carriages and loco have the same code. loco lights on 0, sound on 1, carriage lights on 5. hope this helps. -

My platform announcements were recorded on my iPad by my grandaughter. Transmitted via Bluetooth to a small speaker behind the station building. Attracts a lot of comments at exhibitions and works very well. I simply pick the one that is relevant out of 14 options and press play!

"The filetype you are attempting to upload is not allowed." is what I get when trying to upload from an I-pad - having successfully uploaded several late last year from the same I-pad I wonder what has been changed And who by, Hornby or Apple?

@ PJ MODEL TRAINS Thanks PJ, I took it to our club this morning, as an experiment to see if I could get the whole lot, trestles, stock, laptop, etc all in the car, and to show the guys there for their opinions. The layout fitted in the car, was well received by club members and will have its first outing at our exhibition in April. Sisnce the pics were taken I've added some bushes and passengers have started arriving for the first commuter service to London :) All in all a good mornings work!

@N0ddie if you are going to have seperate board and want to join and separate 'at will' station road baseboards ( http://www.stationroadbaseboards.co.uk/cart_dowels.htm ) are good for the sort of thing you may need....

Nice layouts guys! @PJ - tidy? Yes, but now testing is over the passengers arrive soon! That will make a difference :)

Some months ago I was asked for photos - when ready - of my new exhibition layout... Well, here are some. "Boghampton" is a ficticious terminal somewhere on the south coast of the UK. Set in the mid 60's it has trains arriving and departing to and from London and other places on the south coast between Ramsgate and Portsmouth. It is constructed over 3 boards, each 18" wide. Two are 5' long and the centre 'control' board is 4' long. Designed as an exhibition layout it has to fit in the back of my car, which it does! It is nowhere near finished obviously - it probably never will be 'finished' but it will be at our clubs exhibition in Cotgrave, Notts on the 18-19 April this year as an 'under construction' layout. now I know how to get pics on here.... In order of construction :- /media/tinymce_upload/image69.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/image70.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/image71.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/image72.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/image73.jpg The third and final board is simply a sector plate with 5 sidings on it which connects to the opposite end of this board under the bridge!

Class 08 - What is front? Mixed Freight Set
tony_forward replied to Kurtcat's topic in General Discussion
Sorry WTD, the Cab on all 060 or 040 shunters is at the front according to a shunter driver at our model railway club. He has driven all sorts of diesel shunters over the last 30 years and has convinced us that the cab is always at the 'front' of the loco, although technically it matters not one jot as the damn things go both ways! -
