  1. I've been waiting for a Mosquito for a while so that's a welcome release, the Tempest is a welcome update as well (although I did recently get an Academy one - typical!). A Chipmunk was on the "likely" list but I expected 1/72 not 1/48 - hopefully we'll see it in 1/72 soon. So with the Beaufort from last years announcements and the Mossie I've got enough to be getting on with.
  2. I've just bought another 1/72 Tiger Moth and Gladiator - I'm going through a "biplanes" phase at the moment!
  3. Me and my son built an 'airfield' board (4x2) when he was younger - we painted on a runway and taxiway and added static grass. He built the Airfix control tower to go on it and the Airfix refuellers and ambulance / fire tender kit as well. He'd then line up his aircraft on it and put the Airfix ground crew figures on there too (although we could never get paint to stick to the ground crew!). It was a good project to keep him busy on wet afternoons in the winter.
  4. I've recently built the 2009 starter kit edition (one of a few 'lockdown' builds!) and the moulding seems to have held up quite well. I didn't have any major issues with flash or short shot parts (both of which were major issues with the venerable Comet kit I also built). The Whirlwind is a kit I remember making years ago so thought it'd nice to build another. Mine's not up to the standard of builds on here but I'm happy with it so that's enough for me - I could spend years on a kit and still not get close to the quality of the builds you see on this forum (and others), however, I also suspect I'd lose my mind in the process!
  5. There are currently some corridor connectors up on ebay if you're still looking for them: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NETWORKER-CORRIDOR-CONNECTORS-GREY-PAIR-NEW-/191708892094?hash=item2ca2bd8bbe:g:tPsAAOSw3ydV1MOi
  6. I'm struggling with Networker spares as well - the bogie frames became brittle and cracked so I needed 4 of X8209 and I'd like an X8212 so I can double up on motors (it's a bit underpowered with the motor it has and struggles on anything other than dead level track). It's taken 12 months but I've found 2 bogie frames - still need 2 more and the power bogie axle though. So at the moment the networker is still dead.
