  1. Is it true that the legendary Airfix box artist Roy Cross has passed away? I saw an online note earlier but not sure if it is true.

I hope not, but I have always had the greatest admiration for his work; it had such a great influence on me.

  2. That Autogyro from an Avro 504K looks great; not something I would be brave enough to attempt! I must admit that I mostly prefer older kits but that's partly because I either enjoyed making them as a kid, or for some reason I never got around to buying one back in the day. For that reason, the Vintage Classics range has been a bit hit for me and no doubt I will buy more as they continue to be released.

  3. I look forward to watching your progress with those two kits. I have the Airfix TriStar in the loft along with a Revell DC-10. Your build might inspire me to start work on them!

  4. I really like the Kingscliffe diorama, especially as I walked around the old airfield many years ago when there was more evidence of the now long-gone field. Nice work. I must get some of those E-pens!

  5. Thanks, John - very interesting.

I would consider five of those as a definite 'hit' - two I already have but would consider building them in alternative colour schemes. I know there's no guarantee that another customer would get exactly the same line up, but I'm impressed!

  6. I was considering it too, but as the product info no longer says that buying the bundle will save you any money over what it would cost you to buy (whatever you receive) them individually, it doesn't look like such a good 'sell' as other mystery bundles have been.

  7. I've done almost the same. The Vintage Classic series has been a real hit for me and I've bought many of the kits that I either made as a kid or missed out on. I've just bought the 1/24 Harrier, having admired it from afar for decades!
