  1. Ok, I'll play too wink In 1/72 HP Hampden (Gotta happen eventually, right? smiley)B24-Liberator (Market gap exists innocent)Supermarine Walrus (Because in 1/48 it's too big for many of us tired_face)Arado Ar196 (to go with the Walrus money_mouth_face)Lysander Question is: Will Airfix provide a stablemate for the new tool 1/24 Spitfire and produce a new tool Hurricane or Bf109? And... will there be a floaty thing in 1/350? QE carrier or Type 26/Hunter class? Only time will tell wink
  2. There is possibly a real niche market opportunity here for Airfix to cater to. thinking_face The modern RN has barely been touched by other model companies, and so an opportunity may exist (given proximity to the subject matter) for Airfix to produce kits in both of the modern, widely accepted scales of 1/350 AND 1/700 of the QE/POW carriers, (let's face it, volume sales are 1/700 scale, 1/350 is for those with deep pockets), and the new Type 26 Frigates, which, with both the Australian and Canadian navies having them in service as well as the RN, means these kits may have international appeal as well... There seems to be a lot of demand for the last Ark Royal Carrier as well... sleuth_or_spy Put together with the existing kits of the Type 45's, and Illustrious class (Modern) and Airfix could become the go-to brand for modern RN kits... In 1/350 and 1/700 scale, naturally wink
  3. This list of military operators from Wikipedia... Australia Canada China Czech Germany (Luftwaffe) India Nicaragua Netherlands New Zealand Poland Portugal Romania Soviet Union Turkey United Kingdom and of course the US With so many military operators, surely with a carefully selected variant (D/J) there's a good potential target market there? wink (Not to mention privateers...thinking_face)
  4. Ok, I'll have a swing, as yes, Airfix do pay attention to these posts! Previously I've requested new tool 1/24 Spitfire (all you Spitfire haters can blame me grinning) and a new tool 1/72 Hawker Tempest, so thank you Airfix! I agree, a new tool 1/72 HP Hampden would be great, to fill out the twin engined bombers. I would also be great to see the following in 1/72 as new tool: B24 LiberatorSupermarine Walrus (1/48 just too big for many of us, need the space for what's coming below)Arado ar 196 to go up against the Walrus And in 1/350 and later on in 1/700 HMS Queen Elizabeth/Prince of WalesType 26 Frigates (Lots of potential as these are being built by two other navies as well as the RN. 1/350 for the serious ship builders and 1/700 as the bread and butter model wink
  5. At the risk of repeating myself joy New tool 1/72 Supermarine Walrus, Arado Ar196 and Yak-9 New tool 1/24 Spitfire MkIX/V/I 1/350 HMS QE/POW smiley
  6. Because then you'd need a Hawker Tempest and some late mark Spitfires in 1/24 as well 😉
  7. Yep an Aussie version of the upcoming Beaufort would be great! Also be good to see new tooling of the Walrus in 1/72 and an Arado Ar196
  8. I'd like to see a new tooling in 1/72 of both the Tempest V and the Tempest Type II 😎 Even better would be a 1/24 tooling to go with the Typhoon, but then I guess you'd need a 1/24 Me262 as well 😉
  9. I'd guess a new tool 1/72 B-24 couldn't be that far over the horizon......, buuuuuuuuuuuuut!!! 80th Anniversary of Battle of Britain coming up! New tool 1/24th Spitfire and Me109!!! Come on Airfix, you know you wanna! 😎
  10. I've said it before and I'll say it again 😉 In 1/72: Hawker Tempest II and V Arado Ar 196 Supermarine Walrus and having just seen Midway and thinking it'd be nice to build a SBD Dauntless and discovering very few kits available in 1/72, so I suggest a SBD Dauntless In 1/24 New tool Spitfire Mk IX (tooled in such a way as to enable Mk I and V in enusing years) And why not a Vought Corsair F4U to keep the F6F Hellcat company? In 1/350 HMS Queen Elizabeth/Prince of Wales
  11. One area that Airfix seems to have moved away from in recent years and that I sorely wish they would go back to, is single engine props in 1/72. Sure, there have been plenty of new heavies & jets recently, but it feels like, unless you're into 1/48, new single engines prop kits get overlooked. Two 1/72 kits that would benefit from new tooling that immediately spring to mind are: - Hawker Tempest, both variants, mkv & type II - Yak 9u Keeping my hopes up!!
  12. Love these guesstimations! Expecting to see (all newtools in 1/72) - Ju88A - B24 Liberator - HP Hampden Hoping/Wishing to see (all newtools in 1/72) - Downscaled 1/72 Walrus - Hawker Tempest MkII and MkV - Spitfire Mk's I, VC and IX (yes it's time to re-tool them to today's standards) 😉 Dreaming of a 1/350 HMS Queen Elizabeth/POW and an all new tooled 1/24 Spitfire Mk IX 😎
  13. Can't deny it: I'd definitely stump up the cash for a new tool 1/72 Tempest! 😆 Now, on another note: since we're going to be seeing the F6F in 1/24 is it possible that the F4U Corsair will be next??? Hmmmm
  14. My tips/hunches for next year's new tool releases/announcements: 1/72 Consolidated B24 Liberator (but I don't think a PB4Y-2 is on the cards but maybe down the track?) 1/72 Ju88A (given the restoration of U4+TK underway in Norway 😉) 1/48 Spitfire MkXIV (this one popped up and then was gone just as quickly at the start of this years announcements).
  15. I thought Airfix had been doing that??? Supermarine Spitfire 'BTK' 1955 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX 1959 Supermarine Spitfire Vb 1975 Supermarine Spitfire I 1979 Supermarine Spitfire Vc 2005 Supermarine Spitfire MkIXc 2008 Supermarine Spitfire PRXIX 2009 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Ia 2010 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I/IIa 2011 Supermarine Spitfire F Mk22 2012 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Va 2016 Agree Ratch, but by today's standards the MkI/IIa/Va, the MkIX and the MkVb/c don't cut the mustard when compared to the latest releases by Airfix, which, BTW are better than ever. Hence, my reasoning that to stay competitive in this area they need to be brought up to date. Just my 2 cents 😆
