  1. That's how real planes are built ;) In between commissions, I was able to get the engine build started and trial fitted to the engine mounts* /media/tinymce_upload/6fc6836b0a351a430ee7fa05a99af130.jpg * The cross location lug that locates the engine to bulkhead needs a slight bit of fettling - otherwise the engine won't locate on the engine mounts.
  2. Cockpit is now completed, it was like building the real thing in minature... /media/tinymce_upload/3aedd067a3cda2dbd1ea894d0d14d787.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/7c9e093c896c984f8a36c90022de54cb.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/662df1d69714c5c3a44850f172af97a6.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/5588417e35ed7237f98d3933c7794f3b.jpg I did consider getting the etched replacement instrument panel, but then thought what the hell... Construction of the engine beckons - however that will have to wait, as more locos need doing
  3. My latest purchase is a 1/72nd Scale Sword HS/BAE Harrier T2/T4 (including Navy version), however that won't be being started for a while...
  4. That's pages 8 & 9 finished (and page 10 started) - there's still so much of the cockpit to do, it's scary. /media/tinymce_upload/37dbe719a1707f66f3c173ad2813260d.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/e3a69fde673f1eee266ab5948706a875.jpg
  5. I already had that in mind (did the same thing with the 1/48 Hurricane). Still working through pages 8 & 9 of the instructions, doing a lot of hand painting in-situe once parts are glued in place. Lower wing skin is being used as a jig to keep everything aligned ;) /media/tinymce_upload/1f7163fbecd2d0ef603604f9d06c45ea.jpg
  6. On a very windy and wet June 6th (Typhoon weather if your in a certain part of the world and of course the 73rd Anniversary of D-Day), a large box was opened and construction finally began on the mighty 1:24 Scale Typhoon Mk. 1B. /media/tinymce_upload/42794afc3b31cf5ac5e0b4b1c3e024db.jpg Painting aside, steps 1 & 2 are done. The spars and part of the floor of the cockpit have been dry fitted to assist alignment of the cockpit structure (steps 3 & 4). This kit is going to take some time....
  7. Kingston Council (as in home of the Hurricane, Harrier, Hunter, etc.) recycle the sprues no problem ;)
  8. Nice work, hopefully the big A will get round to retooling the Stirling upto the B17G standard ;)
  9. My latest railway acquistions are, this beauty (B12) and another Class 71 /media/tinymce_upload/0a45108365df83931f98312d01e9baeb.jpg And the last arrival before Christmas is the mighty Airfix 1:24th Scale Hawker Typhoon - my brain is pooling around my feet after reading the instruction book.... /media/tinymce_upload/6931a2c309173b726a1c0a0dc8a54880.jpg I think I need a bigger workbench...
