  1. Try Sankey Scenics - they produce bespoke Coach Destination Boards which include the necessary loco headboards for a complete train. These are printed on thin card and can be easily attached to your locos and coaches. I haven't tried these actual items but I have obtained similar bespoke signs for attaching to buildings which were excellent
  2. Thanks to all for their replies to date - some interesting information there. As some have observed the hopper is not an overwhelmingly accurate model being much capable of improvement. If you're not a kit-builder (and I'm not) the Hornby model is a cheap means of creating a particular type of train. I shall continue to investigate so any further information will always be appreciated.
  3. Actually Catalogue number R6125C has running number 193256. However it is interesting that the item on Ebay referred to was unboxed as is mine. Is it possible that running number 193265 is on a wagon that comes from a set produced specially for a particular retailer hence the lack of a box?
  4. Thanks to both for your replies. The wagon is definately not the Hornby Dublo version as it has the current Hornby (Hobbies) logo on the chasis. The body and chasis of this model is originally from an Airfix/GMR model passed to Palitoy/Mainline hence to both Dapol and also Hornby. (It's latest Hornby incarnation is R6565 MOT Iron Ore Hopper) The current Dapol version which is identical apart from a lighter grey and up to date NEM pocket couplings is 4F-034-009 and has running number 193227. I have boxed examples of R6125 (A-D) and I only need R6125E running number 193452 (according to the Hornby Guide which is pretty comprehensive). Hence my curiosity about running number 193265.
  5. Can someone help with an R number for a Hornby NE Hopper wagon which I acquired at the weekend at a toyfair. I have already searched the Hornby Guide website without success. The wagon has a running number of 193265 which does not appear to correspond with numbers R6017 or R6125(A-E). It is definately a Hornby model (marked as such on the chasis) and not the earlier Mainline original. It did occur to me that it might be from a set but I couldn't find any containing such a wagon. Any information would help.
