  1. I am a fan of MP3 and converted my physical collection to this format . 700 tracks on a usb stick for the car helps drive safely as you don't need to take your eyes of the road to change cd's after 12 tracks or so . However ,I was wondering what is used inside the locomotive to create TTS sound .Is it a mp3 track ?? Maybe somebody knows and can enlighten me and others .I wonder if it can be edited ?
  2. I have a Mercedes AMG GT3 and it sticks well to the track like the Aston does .I don't push my best cars too hard but going quick without coming off is the name of the game .
  3. I saw that the Ipad 3 is in the compatability list so I went out and bought one second hand just for use with ARC Air but I am sorry to say the latest version of the app did not work .It connects but if I try to use the pace car the program closes .However I found it works like a dream with the older Legacy version so the compatibility list needs updating for the current version of the app .I am fine with the legacy version for now . I tried the latest app on my wife's Ipad mini 4 and it works perfectly but my good lady is not keen on me using her expensive piece of kit to play car racing .
  4. I use 2 Elites for different layouts in different locations .One is 1.41 and the other is 1.43 and they both control and run my trains with no issues and handle my TTS sound functions .I have no TTS diesels so after reading all this trial and error and hastle to update to 1.44 I will stick to what I have .
  5. I managed to buy a used Elite from ebay for less than a 3rd of the new price to use with my second layout .It worked fine . I suggest you shop around for a used one at far less than AU$500 .I worked in IT for 22 years and sometimes the only solution is to replace the unit rather than drive yourself insane trying things over and over .Win XP is obsolete and no longer supported by Microsoft . Good luck
  6. My local High Street consists of betting shops ,estate agents and charity shops and the odd Greggs the baker .The rest in the main are boared up units that nobody can afford to rent .Woolworths was the first to go followed by the major department stores over the years .The council don't seem to care and have so many expensive parking zones it's a rip off no go zone. Back in the 80's I was a sales rep for a large biscuit company and had many independant retailers to look after and enjoyed the job doing the best deals I could .Then the first ASDA opened and within a short time my retailers could not compete and went bust one by one .I could not offer them cost price that was lower than asda's retail .My job suddenly went from selling to standing inline at ASDA to collect a computer driven order and they even demanded we supply the staff to put the goods on display .Needless to say my company could not survive on such low margins and one by one we lost our jobs and the Company was bought out . I embrace and enjoy the choice available online and it maybe you cannot try before you buy on site but in my experience if I have a problem with a loco not running well I get a replacement sent without any quibble .Hornby online shop is no problem .
  7. I have 4 and just table lights illuminate so I guess they are working as designed .
