  1. Hi, my pc is advising me to upgrade from windows 10 to windows 11, which is a free upgrade. However I wonder if anyone has done this and what issues if any it caused on Railmaster, hopefully none. Thanks in advance, Mick.
  2. GREAT W1 I now have my W1 and it’s fantastic. The Hornby box fitted perfectly into the stout brown outer packaging. On unpacking the loco there were no loose bits rolling around and the loco was totally undamaged, it looks terrific. I first ran the loco on a 2 meter length of DC track and it ran smoothly and quietly. While I’m waiting to obtain a sound decoder I fitted a well used standard Hornby decoder so I could try it on my layout. It ran perfectly, negotiating points and diamond crossings without any drama. I’m well impressed by it and would recommend it to anyone. A first class product worth every penny.
  3. Try a decoder full reset. Set CV8 to 8.
  4. Is the TTS sound decoder for the 9F Crosti representative of the loco when introduced or the modified version that dispensed with the pre-heater? I never saw or heard a Crosti 9F back in the day so I’m unsure of how they sounded.
  5. Thanks chaps, I thought there might be a tech reason why it wouldn’t work. thanks again.
  6. This is probably a daft question but as I don’t know the answer I’m going to ask it anyway. I have two tender drive Hornby A3’s which I have converted to DCC with a Sapphire decoder to cope with the current draw of the ring field motor, both models are in excellent condition and I don’t intend to replace them, though I’d like to fit sound, so, if I was to hard wire a TTS decoder to receive current from the track but leave the grey and orange wires isolated, then set the TTS decoders accel/decel etc the same as the Sapphires and the create a consist using the two decoders would that work? I’ve thought about it for some time and in my simplistic way of thinking it would work, but I stand to be corrected.
  7. I'm considering detailing my Railroad Gresley Teak coaches, was there a standard convention on seat colours I.e. red for first and blue for second maybe? I might do my blood and custards as well as my LNER teaks, if so would the same convention apply. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
