  1. Hi Chris Thanks again. Derek
  2. Hi Chris That truly is useful .... I think I understand pretty clearly now. Would the LEDs be specially wired ie the long and short legs to which colour / rail / polarity ? ..... and the resistor to the longer legs ? Thanks Chris ... you always come to my rescue . Derek Stay safe ADDENDUM I never saw the diagram until after I replied so I think you have answered my questions... thanks again.
  3. Hi Everyone Is it possible to convert this DC Diesel to DCC and keep the original lighting system working ? The sevice sheet No. 94A specifies the bulbs as 14 volts and 0 .04 amps... If YES then would they require connecting to a fitted decoder and controlled via Fn keys ? I am no electrician and I just don't understand ... this may well be a stupid question. Should I have posted in DCC section ? Derek Take care & stay safe
  4. To : Puffed Out You are a star ....... I can try it tomorrow !! Thanks so much . Derek
  5. Please .... I did not want to gate crash someone elses thread so can I ask that " PUFFED OUT " answer this question or any member for that matter who can help me ?. How do I use the Ronald Dodds remagnetiser to remagnetise a Ringfield Magnet .... I have the remagnetiser but did not know it works on Ringfield magnets. I would be very grateful especially if any descriptive photos are possible. Thanks in advance Derek
  6. Hi I am sure this is not right but sometimes it has worked for me ( I am only a hobbyist !! ) If you use the first 2 digits of the loco run number then that is ( I THINK !! ) the class number ( or am I just dreaming again ? ) . It seems to be right for most diesels. an example would be your Inter City 225 which would have a run no of say 91XXX .... ( ie class 91 ) Derek Stay safe ( R numbers are normally on documentation and boxes )
  7. Hi Try entering "Class 91" .... for your example and " Class XX " as necessary ( where XX is the class of loco ) .. this sometimes is better. Good luck and take care Derek
  8. Calling Andy ! ..... is your problem / puzzle now resolved? Did the forum guys help you ?
  9. Hi It could be that the left wheel /axle set has its back to back measurement set far too small causing it to bind on the motor chassis. Check it moves freely .... adjust to 14.5mm ( the same as the right wheel/axle set ) if necessary .. Have you tried spinning this axle without any plastic gear being fitted ? Take care Derek
  10. Hi JWL Sorry but I don't know where you would get detailled instructions , I can only suggest you take your time and don't force anything !... It may help you if you take some closeup photos of each side first ...( before you start work ) ... also have a 9v battery handy as you may need to revolve the drive wheels / axles ? ( unless this is a Tender drive model. ) .. I hope that helps a bit. Regards ... Stay safe & good luck.... Derek
  11. Hi Yes the "W" does or normally does stand for weathered ... Having said that why don't you email or give them a ring ... they are very helpful and a very good source of parts and documents , and fair prices I have always found. Regards & Take care Derek
  12. Any use ? They are weathered !! http://www.lendonsmodelshop.co.uk/index.asp?redirect=&q=+X8942&searchwhere=On-Lendons-Website&condition=or&highlighted=on Derek
  13. Sounds like a class 20 ... can you post a photo ? ... what is the run number ... ie the locos number on the side of the body. Derek
