  1. I'm surprised to be honest, having built a couple I thought it was an excellent little kit - the lack of a cockpit in a 1/72 Spitfire never bothered me too much, you can see so little of the cockpit through the canopy anyway.
  2. Looks great @Dominic Thomas - what kit is that?
  3. Dear Mr. Airfix. Isn't it about time you re-released this rather spiffing kit, possibly one of the nicest 1/72 Spitfire kits I've ever built, and fill the rather large hole of important Spitfire marks you have in your range. It's blooming impossible to get hold easily and deserves more love. And why you're at it - how about that metal wing for your 1/72 Hurricane, and a re-jigged Hurricane mk.II? Yours Truly 2nd Technician Arnold Judas Rimmer BSc SSc
  4. Started painting the Typhoon and a Starter Set Spitfire mk.Vc. which I knocked up in about an hour or so over the weekend. First coat of Hataka Ocean Grey is on.
  5. Nicely Done - I do like the Blenheim.
  6. I think I'll just get the recovery set and see how it tallies up to the hurricane fuselage although from what people have said the truck is somewhat under scale.
  7. Very nice builds thus far Richard, you did well doing that Luftwaffe camo with a brush.
  8. Agreed, two excellent looking builds!
  9. Nice! I really hope they bring out an FB version of the Mossie at some point, although to be honest, the old kit does build nicely.
  10. Nice work Ratch - they're both coming along well. I started the mk.V Spitfire (from an earlier boxing) yesterday and I concur that the most time consuming aspect is the painting.
  11. Nice metallics! That material should work well for the thermal blanket.
  12. They do indeed go well together, nice work!
  13. It'll be interesting to see how you get on with this Ian, I've tried it a couple of times and given up. Certainly I remember the fit of the resin intakes to be interesting. It should look great once it's all together though.
  14. Yes I've seen that several times (I go to Goodrich a lot). It's a sad story but I lovely memorial I thought.
  15. Great stuff Richard, a nice bit of work that (and I like the backgrounds) - by 'eck though that's a strange looking beast!
  16. Did they? I'm sure I don't remember... 🤣
  17. I'm lucky enough to have 4 in about a 1/2 hour's drive - although granted two of them are more geared towards wargaming and one is mainly 2nd hand train stuff.
  18. From my local model shop's 2nd hand pile - still sealed. A couple of old, but not bad looking kits. I built the F-3 years ago, but made a complete hash of it and have since binned it - looking forward to having another go. As for the F-4G, I've wanted one for ages to go with my Late Cold War USAF collection, and I've never built an F-4. Not looking forward to the white plastic however! Cheers!
