  1. If someone wants you to take an offer (even though you didn't have a buy-it-now price) then it's because they think it's worth way more than that. And/or they're going to try to get you to do the "sale" outside of Ebay, which means you lose your protections. I get this when telling tech gear, especially Apple-branded stuff. I ignore them. I've yet to me out of pocket by doing so.
  2. "All it needs is for the phone to record throttle use for 2-3 laps and just play back that pattern?" It's really not that simple, unfortunately. It doesn't know where the cars are (other than when they pass the lap counter), so wouldn't know when to slow down/speed up. You can't rely on timing, cos a given throttle setting won't always have the car running at the same speed. A variance of just 1% (and it's way higher than that in practice, ISTM) gets you a few seconds out after a bunch of laps, so it becomes useless. Even if the throttle settings gave you a 100% accurate predictable speed, the pace car could be slowed by another car in the same lane getting in the way.
  3. Rubber band is a single throttle position, so the car is always going to be at whatever speed it needs to be to get around the sharpest bend. So, with pace cars I can't put any R1 hairpins in, for example, cos then the car would be too slow for the rest of the circuit.
  4. Except some of those that are in sets? e.g. in the Sunset Speedway set.
  5. I'll check that out, thank you Andy.
  6. Although I don't watch much F1, I do love some of the older cars like the C4068A 1962 Lotus that is now available at https://www.scalextric.com/uk-en/lotus-25-jim-clark-monza-1963-first-world-championship.html However, I can only really accommodate a two-lane setup so it's digital-only here, allowing more than two racers. These cars aren't listed as DPR, and that's probably not surprising given the body size. Does anyone who has one, or has seen one, think there's room in the body for a retro-style C7005 chip?
  7. It depends on when the ARC Pro unit was made. Curved lane changers only work with newer ones Straight lane changers work with all Pit lane in/out work with all Straight crossover (and curved crossover) are fine with the new model, but older models need them paired up. If you search the forum you'll find how to tell if you have a new one or not. Mine is the 'new' (fixed) model as I got it with the Sunset Speedway set.
  8. C7007 Out-to-in left-handedC7008 Out-to-in right-handedC7009 In-to-out left-handedC7010 In-to-out right-handedAll come with a C7000 sensor straight, same dimensions as a C8207 half straight. I have a C7010 but don't use it any more - cars on the inside seem to skid too much - not sure if it's because the moving switch blade is slippery, or maybe it's not ferrous so the magnets don't "grip" it. Or both. But electrically at least, it totally works with the updated powerbase (mine is from the Sunset Speedway set)
  9. Sorry for double posting that, I didn't initally realise that posts with images are moderated (it makes sense that they are, I just missed the message so thought I'd messed up the post and did it again). (Edit: and now I've kinda triple posted it, I need to work out how better to use this slightly odd forum software, sorry again) Mr/Ms Admin, feel free to delete if you like :)
  10. A bit of a Google image search for similar-ish but red, cars tells me that the other one in the set was a C86 Porsche
  11. Also, I can't really vouch for the performance as I was about 7 so didn't really have the skills to get the most out of them.
  12. Just to be clear, that's not a photo of a car I now have - I did an image search to try to find one that most closely fits my memory. I had a set that included a car very close to that, and a similar-ish red one.
  13. I concur with Woodcote, stick to two lanes for more exciting racing. Maybe a pit lane if you want to do the refuelling (etc) game. Don't make it to easy to overtake, it gets more exciting if a driver has to strategise, rather than just go to a spare lane and whizz past. Linking two Arc Pro sets seems like a non-starter to me, they won't be properly linked into a single race. You need to set up two iPads (etc).
