  1. Hello all, Im looking for some Guidance hers in regards to my lima IC swallow set. I have 4 out of the desired 7 coaches including the buffet and TGS however I am wondering if there is any place to look up perticular codes or item numbers to identify; Release years, carriges required etc.etc.etc. As it currently stands 43051 44071 42191 41097 40619 43072 Doing a bit of research I was looking into doing a 2+7 formation which i believe looks like; Power car 1,TF,TF,Buffet TS,TS,TS,TS,TGS Powercar 2 The TS in this livery seem to be exceptionally difficult to aquire I have 1 out of 4. Any ID Numbers would be very helpful thank you
  2. New bachmann 158 is Beautiful, Glad I purchased it .... Old tooling 158 Forfront. the detail difference is something out of this universe.
  3. Firstly, Thank you for your quick reply. Secondly. That Is Most Unfortunate news... Looking through my 142's I've noticed that another one has had a make-shift Coupling. I would have thought they would have been very much available. Looking at the coupling you have mentioned, and the information you have provided here, I may have no other option... You also referred to the APT Power Car shares the same coupling? I will assume this is the old tooling. not the new one. That may be last resort. Many thanks Going Spare
  4. Not sure if this is the correct place to put this. Since I collect Regional Railways, Pacers are going to be a big part of the scene. However. At a lot younger age the couplings on only one have met Young hands and fell victim to the "Play Train" attitude. PLEASE DO NOT SHOOT ME Now I am at an age I understand that this wasn't the correct way to play with 142's, I have embarked on the great journey of fixing them... to say the least, out of the 9 I have only 2 that Need major repairs, Starting with; My Manchester Orange and brown. All it requires is a new carriage-to-carriage coupling... I've checked Peters Spares and I have had no luck there. Any hints and/or suggestions?
  5. @lyctus. Hvaing worked on the Merseyrail network in Liverpool, the possablity of something contacting a 3rd rail (Conductor Rail) reall dosent have that much of a chance to occur. We have Rail sheilds to plavce ofver the 3rd rail for Short Term jobs. long term Jobs like Sleeper refits etc require Written Permissions from the likes of the ECO and Signaller... the additional MEasure is the (Test Touch an Test) using A peice of equipment to test if the Rail is live... alot of protective measure now implace and same for the 25kv ole. hope it helps
  6. After completing the 2+7 Consist this is very informative, thank you @goingspare. Unfortunately, This means I have a mixture of years from the production; with an additional issue of the same power car (43117) twice, I've personally not seen a 118 power car. I have no boxes for the vast majority of the rolling stock in this set. This is making it hard to identify their production year. I can guarantee the model is very outdated and id suggest it would have been very much a 90s model. it would be shown up (Detail wise) immensely against the Lima Mk3 set. I think I should have Collected instead. My Hornby Set Power-car1: 43117 Carriage 1:42158 TS Carriage 2:42180 TS Carriage 3:42191 TS Carriage 4:42192 TS Carriage 5:40740 RFMB Carriage 6:41097 TF Carriage 7;41098 TF Power-car 2: 43117
  7. (Please note; not very sure if this is the correct Line in the frum move to where appropriate) I'm collecting the old HST Set in GNER livery and Have hit a bit of a Confusing point where I have three coaches; they have the letters A and 1 on the door 1st Class (41097) and D(42158). standard carriage The third carriage has a lot more detail than the previous 2 Number 1 in bold white but it got the coach H under neath the interlock light the other coaches don't have the (41098) I'm guessing that i have a mixed age fleet of gner mk3 and this latter carriage is more modern? or Does the A and D symbolise something I'm not aware of? thank you for viewing.
  8. The Former London overground 172's are pretty much only technically different. Gearboxes and bogies. Aesthetics wise the bogies on the 170s are Adrantaz P3 -23 and one BREL T3 Per carriage. The lights on the front of some 170 and most 172's have a Metal Circle like the 171s in southern. some select 170s also carry this trait (Scottish ones mostly), It's only if you wanted to do the 172//2 and /3 things would have got tricky, they have the gangways on the front and will become a bit of a pain, I've seen on eBay that CMAC Models have made a Plastic 172//2 and /3 Front However it needs a bit of Scalpel and Knife usage to Achieve the end result hope this helps
  9. After these few months have passed I can say that I've successfully managed to get all my 156s modernised and working, Was hoping to Contribute some to a Specific model railway on the Wigan Model Railway Exhibition. However, Due to strike action on the railways that day, I was unable to traffic them up to there.
  10. I have a 31x kit that is 3d printed, from a Gent in the Luton area, The Gentleman Has Also Come and brought out Unit variations for the likes of 507 and 508. it's not RTR and I don't think I will see them in my lifetime. brought into an RTR format, however, this kit I have is going into a regional railways/ Mersyrail 50x... when I get around to it.

    Class 319 EMU

think this is more than likely going to come from Bachmann, due to Graham Farish releasing a very nice 319 unit in N gauge id Surmise the OO will come out in 2 decades...

    Southern EMU's

Have seen a 465 completed and running. but the owner said many 466 models were sacrificed to achieve it, I'd like to have seen an RTR 465 Also. would fit nicely with the bratchell 321/319 I have in the NSE liveries.
  13. AC models. will be my starting point. thank you very much for your Message.
