  1. Thank you for responses - ok then - please can someone confirm dcc commands for getting the dummy lights to kick in?
  2. Hi all, I own both the DCC sound fitted blue/grey HST set and the DC Swallow set. I’ve noticed that the dc set‘s dummy car‘s red lights come on as expected- but not the DCC version‘s - I can’t imagine there is a dcc chip in the dummy controlling the lights? Surely the dummy‘s lights are just dc wired?
  3. Yes, indeed. Arnold's TT models are of a significantly higher quality to Hornby's - they can easily command higher retails prices. Would have been awesome if Arnold were just making the UK prototypes too.
  4. If the guide doesn't say anything about it then it's probably not technically supported to run in analogue mode. Some chips can handle both ways to operate but (at least in my experience they would include a switch that you need to set)
  5. Hi Nigel, Please refrain from running it analogue - you could damage the DCC chip. I'm not familiar with Roco's TT DCC chips, but they may or may not support analogue running. What does the user guide say?
  6. There is no way this loco will be in TT120 scale I'm afraid. I've got one on the way, I'm sure it's 00 gauge. It's a shame it's such a useless looking loco, why would anyone want that on their layouts? I don't do 00 gauge so it's going straight into my shop for sale.
  7. Well, I'm still waiting for the first issue to show up, haha. I would not expect any genuine release schedule.
  8. Hi there Brian, Yes, I ordered the set too. I quite like them, but I think the paint job is a bit rubbish personnaly - especially on one of the examples I got. I am hoping for a much wider variety of more useful vehicles than the ones so far offered. It's still nice to have something to put on the roads. Compared to my other german TT vehicles the size looks ok to me, definitely a shock at first though, I agree.
  9. hi there - my set of the blood & custard is hopefully waiting for me at my office which i cannot unfortunately get to for a week - can i ask - do they also have the curve scraping issue that the maroon ones have?
  10. I'm hedging my bets - I've now preordered the Blue/grey HST sound set in case it does stay in the catalogue, and I've also ordered the non-sound Swallow set. So that means I guess I now need to pre-order a rake of blue mk3s on top of the swallow one i've already ordered. oh dear.
  11. ….and this morning it fired up and moved off as if nothing was ever wrong. I didn’t do anything! I just turned it on, in preparation for another reset. How unnerving.
  12. Thanks for the warning Rallymatt - yeah Roco is the one manufacturer I don’t have any TT stock of. I’m a strict DB man so that’s probably why. I’d love some OBB TT though - they are originally Austrian if I remember rightly. Still, I’m surprised at that. Fleischmann bought them a while back if I’m not mistaken - and they now do the HO under Fleischmann so F… can just focus on their piccolo N. A shame all round. anyway back to Hornby. It’s just the QC. cut the marketing and hire some QC people please. Otherwise the BR will fade from my layout.
  13. Hi there, not cheated, no. TT scale is no different to the others - it has issues and release delays too. I’m disappointed with hornby‘s QC (does it exist?) - not their delays and not their Customer Service. ps, N gauge is dreadful by the way. I did it together with Z gauge for a few years. You ain’t missing much. Generally speaking the larger scales have less pain all round I’ve found. i just wish that I wasn’t being hit with so many newly arrived TT Hornby products that need to be sent back. Arnold is in another universe of quality - too bad their range is so limited. Piko really solid so far - but again such a tiny range still heavily DR biased (TT is traditionally a DR scale) Only Tillig is making DB efforts - their quality is less than the others but still more reliable than Hornby so far. Arnold is part of Hornby right? I wish Arnold would just start a UK range.
  14. After 1 day of smooth running my new sound chip factory fitted Night Hawk‘s not moving. Running with HM7000 Bluetooth - sound still works fine but she doesn’t move at all now. Have tried restarting power, reloading profile, unassigning/reassigning - no luck. anyone else experienced this? I shall call Hornby in the morning.
  15. Hi all, I've just got off the phone with Hornby. At this time the BR blue sound set is still in the catalogue and available to order, they were not sure if it was also going to be cancelled. the 10% code is uselsess to us 15% members, how pointless. And yeah, I originally had the non sound pack preordered from day 1 at the original lower price which I chose to cancel when the sound set was announced. Now I have to figure out whether to gamble on the BR blue staying in the catalogue and order that instead (but I am a sectorization era guy). I don't want to buy and install separate chips myself. I would destroy the loco on first attempt I am quite sure! haha. I do enough of all that in other larger more robust scales. This TT stuff was supposed to be my relaxing fun. Thank goodness for my Tillig and Piko locos to distract me from all this.
  16. Hi All, Be warned - my pre-order for one of the Class 43 sound sets was just cancelled by Honrby without reason. That's not cool. Now what? Hornby lists a new product to replace it at increased cost?
  17. Hi all, ...just got the email! I hope this means the HM7000 locos are here soon. Only reason I pre-ordered the bundle.
  18. Excellent- I order all my German TT stock from them - about three orders a month. They are a great shop.
  19. ...and I'm not even getting into correct table placement in relation to windows etc for the prototype. I mean the tables are not sitting flat in their place, or (in the case of Mk1 table tops) are literally wonky like the passenger's cup of tea would slide right off onto their lap. It can't be hard for the factories / the QC department to make sure the little pieces of plastic are correctly in place.
  20. It seems to be a common trait pretty much any restaurant/dining car I've ever bought. I remember challenging the O gauge retailer and he denied ever noticing and ignored my photos I sent them. Never dealt with him again. The Wunder coaches were too costly to return (living in England, sometimes it's just not work the effort and cost). As for these tiny little TT coaches - well this is supposed to be just fun for me - to give me a break from my bigger scales (that's what I tell myself haha). I just thought since it's happened to me so much it cannot just be me and must be a norm of model coaches.
  21. Hi all, as I sit admiring the new Pullmans one thing jumps out at me. Looking thru the windows of my 4 coaches, the white tables are usually tilted/raised/askew out of position. i noted the same thing on my new TT Tillig Schürzen dining car the other week. Years ago I noted wonky table tops in my O gauge RMB Mk1s, and its even there (yes I swear) in my gauge 1 Wunder DRG coaches. It appears in all market segments. when these manufacturers are getting far more complex details right - how can it be - that tables elude them all. It’s baffling. it’s jarring when you look at these otherwise beautiful coaches.
  22. Thank you ateshci, indeed, I couldn't see anything visually out of place. I ran the wheels back and forth for a while with a bit of force, and now it seems to be going away.
