Hi Guy's, as I only live down the road from kings cross I'm going back again today so will try and get better pictures. The coaches are all pre production and all have different colours on the paint but the tooling details are there. David-watts1 , Hornby are not making any railroad items in the TT range,Simon told me this yesterday and we had a very long chat regarding TT. The coaches in the scotsman set are the same as the ones you buy separately just are missing the lights, Simon said he was trying to keep the set prices down he also said this may work out as a false economy having 2 runs on the coaches and said this may change in the future, so the pullmans in the final production in the set and the singles you buy separately will look identical apart from lights. I have to say the details and quality were amazing and considering these are all samples things will only get better when everything is ironed out. Later today I will upload more pictures but this time try and get close ups, I will ask Simon if I can get a close up of the cab interiors.

Being a Londoner I visited Kings Cross today because Flying Scotsman was there Also Hornby had a stand with a TT layout and had a very long Chat with Simon K. A few pics below taken through acrylic I will say the quality is as good as the new oo stuff coming out, Also the steam locomotives have full detailed and painted cabs. Considering these are pre production models I was blown away. i'm now ready to completely off load all of my oo and start rebuilding in TT. Enjoy. Frey. If they do not make a turntable, although very expensive Roco make an excellent version in TT which I think is almost the same as the HO roco/fleischmann turntable.

if you go to brochure and guides which you can find in the tabs where you click for rolling stock,sets,locomotives then download the catalogue scroll down to current locomotives and just past steam you will see 9F's and castle class then you you carry on scrolling past diesels and class 43 you will see quiet a large selection of diesels they have planned for the future. I'm more than impressed with the large selection. Hope this helps. Frey

Hi Hobby I may order a small piece of tillig straight along with a building I'm looking at from model Bahn union and check if its possible when my Hornby track arrives, The Hornby guys said it would be possible but before I buy an expensive piece of tillig track this may be the best way to be sure.

Hi I just got off there phone with Hornby Tech and I asked if this was the same code as tillig Bahn track and it turns out that the hight of both rails are the same as they had a piece of Tillig track in the office, he did say that the fish plates would be a problem but if you were for example to purchase a tillig slip or double crossover you could solder the Hornby and Tillig track together which I have done in the past with OO track with just a bit of filing and polishing and your done.

thanks for letting us know. I really wanted lights in the pullmans. I'm the same and wanted a rake of lite coaches, I see why they left the lights out of the coaches but part from that I was told the coaches are the same, if you think about the price of the sets being very reasonable in price when you consider the loco is valued at £145.95 the then say around 40 for each coach because no lights still makes it great value and a saving but I opted for the Eastener set plus I order the flying scotsman plus 3 pullmans with lights and will collect more as they are released. The Eastener retail price before discount is great value £32.95 I think for each coach plus the Locomotive at £145.95 track and controller then makes a superb deal, I think my pre order price with club discount is is around £168.00, can't go wrong. I have ordered some wagons this morning and the discount is now showing on the emails sent so I think Hornby have fixed the glitch.

Hi I spoke with Hornby tech yesterday as I had a few questions I wanted answered before I made an order and I was told that the sets include the same Locomotives and coaches that are sold separately using the same toolings, I asked if the pullmans had lights as I intended to purchase other coaches from the range and the answer to that was no but the coaches paint and finish are the same as the other pullmans with lights and using the same tooling, I opted for the Eastener train set plus ordered the flying scotsman plus 3 lite Pullmans plus other locomotives and coaches. I was also told that they do not intend to do railroad versions.Hope this helps

Thank you I also spoke with Hornby today and my worries have been put to bed, They told me that she could see the discounts on all my items ordered. I'm now making another order for some other items as I'm worried they may sell out and at these very reasonable prices I would be silly not to.

I ordered last night the eastern train set, mallard, flying scotsman and lms atholl plus 11 coached so I received 15 emails where all the items had been separated into separate orders and apart from the locomotives and set all the coaches have a 3.95 delivery charge. I spoke with Hornby today and they are aware of a glitch in the system and they are working on it I was told.
