  1. And the demise of steam. No steam, no risk of setting fire to the encroaching vegetation.
  2. What a wonderful prototype. How have I never heard of this station before? Your baseboard & fiddle yard are coming along nicely.
  3. The Stanier 50' is listed on the website as a minimum of radius 3., which I find surprising. Does it say anything on the packaging? The far longer Mk.1 and Mk.3 coaches have radius 1 as the minimum. But I think we've already established that the Hornby website descriptions can not always be relied upon.
  4. Aye, just got mine. Interesting what's not in there - the blue 08 (presumably they're not making any more, with that running number at least). Neither are the BR blue Mk.2E coaches. Good to see the Y-point is still listed in future releases. Very thin paper mind - not as sturdy as the original. Handle with care! Check your magazine though - the first one I picked up did not have the catalogue attached. Either it had fallen off somewhere or been pinched.
  5. Class 253 (WR) and class 254 (ER). I think your biggest disappointment should have been the far-too-short coaches, with the wrong number of windows . . .
  6. I wish they'd done a plain version without the dragons (?) on the side.
  7. Looks like the power car is running slightly higher than the coach in the above picture? (probably more noticable because of the livery stripes). Also seen a couple of vids where one power car looks to be slightly higher on the bogies.
  8. Generalisations are always a bad thing. Judging by my youtube "recommendations" over the last couple of weeks there are plenty of people who've plonked down >£1000 for 4x Cavalex Class 56 and are now proudly showing them off, especially the sound.
  9. I strongly suspect you are going to be seriously disappointed.
  10. When first announced there were certainly a few very noisy detractors of TT:120. Some seemed almost mortally offended that such a thing even exists. Don't hear them so much nowadays. Even so, the two closest stockists to me still don't stock TT:120 on the shelves. They'll both order anything I want from both Hornby and Peco, but then I may just as well go to any other online retailer, so they lose my custom. And I have told both of them this.
  11. Only 1 powered. The other power car needs a decoder for sound & lights.
  12. Never heard of them. (Goes off to find their website). Oh my! What a treasure trove.
