  1. Donald, A common issue is the steps over the front bogie have been fitted vertically which interfere with the wheels when on a curve. Use a knife dipped in boiling water to soften the glue on the steps and pull them away from the bogie, I had a similar problem with Trigo and this worked well. Railbob
  2. Peter, I agree, I think the demand for TT120 has taken Hornby by surprise, I’d expect that they thought the take up would be relatively slow and that would give them time to build up stock, this obviously hasn’t happened with preorders outstripping supply. For Hornby it’s a Rock and a Hard Place scenario, do they prioritise the sets at the cost of development of the range or do they expand the range but have much less stock which will frustrate customers? I don’t envy them in sorting the issues out. Railbob
  3. I cancelled an order for a power unit and they did not return my points, I had to get Simon involved and he said that it was something that needed fixing to return the points automatically, go to see that they have fixed the issue. Railbob
  4. I believe that there is a downloadable pdf file on the TT120 shop section of the website 😁👍
  5. I had a DPD driver sit outside my house on Friday for a few minutes as he was early according to the website. Of all the delivery companies DPD win hands down, Evri ( Hermes) lost a £200 model ship kit I bought for a friend and tried to get them to fix it was impossible. Railbob
  6. Hi Singer, I have the 3 versions of TT120 locomotives, William Whitelaw from the Easterner set, Flying Scotsman DCC ready and Trigo DCC fitted. With WW I fitted a Next 18 decoder and speaker, it’s a bit fiddly to fit the speaker and cable in the Tender as there is quite a bit of spare connecting cable, just be careful refitting the Tender as so you don’t snag the cable. With Flying Scotsman it’s very easy to add the decoder as the speaker is already there as others have said. And Trigo nothing to do as everything is there already 👍 Railbob
  7. Hi everyone, Well Flying Scotsman arrived back today and she’s looking good, on the repair note they said that they have replaced the front bogie assembly and it appears to be the case. So unfortunately I’ll have to wait until I’ve completely relaid the track as I’ve never been happy with it, I ordered some track gauges as a few have suggested and now that my Peco buildings are starting to arrive I feel I’m on the right track, pardon the pun. Hopefully I can start posting some pictures of my progress in the next few weeks. I feel that I’m over the hump will start coasting soon. Railbob
  8. Today DPD brought me a 7 plank wagon and 2 tankers to add to the rolling stock. I also picked up from Scoonie Hobbies a Peco Goods building and a Peco Station plus some bits and pieces. Mr Postman also delivered today a set of track gauges as I’ve not been happy with the straightness of my track. I think I’ll be busy this weekend 😂 Railbob
  9. Well Mr DPD delivered a Toad E brake van, A Vent van and two 7 plank wagons today. Hopefully just the start of the rolling stock to go with my Easterner coaches. Railbob
  10. Too Tall, I’ve followed your suggestion on fixing Trigo and it has worked a treat. I’ve ran her around the tightest curves on my layout at varying speeds and not the slightest hint of her derailing 😀 I’m a very happy bunny. Railbob
  11. Too Tall, I’m going to give your suggestion a try and hopefully it’ll cure Trigo. Railbob
  12. Peachy, I’m having a similar issue with Trigo, do these photos show the same thing? Railbob
  13. Hi Peacy and Rallymatt, As much as I’d love to fix the locomotives myself I now find myself struggling to hold small pieces in my left hand due to damage in my neck over the years. I’m incredibly frustrated with the lack of strength and feeling in my left hand as I’m struggling to build my ships so I thought I’d try model railways. Anyway I’m waiting on Hornby getting back to me regarding the faults Raibob
  14. Rallymatt, High Fell just gets better and better every day 👍 Railbob
  15. Hi Rallymatt, I didn’t know about the washers and can’t find them so she’ll have to go back ☹️ As for Trigo it’s not that she slows on the curves it’s that she derails at slow speeds, I can see the front bogie lift and turn just before derailment ☹️ Railbob
  16. Not a happy bunny at the moment as you can see, she was running fine for a while then she decided to part company with her front bogie 😡 I only got her back last week and Trigo has decided that she won’t go around curves at a slow speed, she’s constantly derailing at anything below half speed ☹️ So that’s both of them going back after only having them back for a week 😡😡🤬🤬🤬 Railbob
  17. So was I Rallymatt 😂 . I tried to reboot chip as it kept dropping out on Bluetooth but it didn’t work, so it now connects but just sits there laughing at me 😂 I’m such a technophobe. Railbob
  18. Well Trigo and Flying Scotsman are both heading back for maintenance, Trigo was working pretty well then decided to give up the ghost after about 30 minutes and Flying Scotsman has a snapped screw on the tender. Ahh well 😀 Railbob
  19. Rallymatt, I must admit that I tend to build in 1/96 these days but I did have a Fleetscale Hood at 1/128. I don’t think she’d fit as she was nearly 7 feet long 😂. Railbob PS my Grandfather was was one of her foreman painters on the Hood
  20. Rallymatt, If you are thinking about putting a ship in your dock have a look at Fleetscale, they have a range of model ships in the 1/128 scale which are very close to TT120, so much so I don’t think anyone could tell the difference. As a comment on your layout, wow !! I love it 😀 Railbob
  21. As someone who has had to relay my track after ballasting I wholeheartedly concur with everyone, it was an absolute pain to lift the track and ballast, I’ve definitely learnt to wait until I’ve done everything else before ballasting. As for filing the track unless you can absolutely guarantee that you can get it down to the micron I wouldn’t even think about it. Railbob
  22. DPD just delivered Trigo, sound fitted, another next 18 decoder for Flying Scotsman, which unfortunately is heading back to Margate for repairs due to a snapped tender screw 😕 and some extra track. Trigo has been around the layout a few times and I’ll properly run her in tomorrow now that the chip has been updated. She looks good so far 😀👍 Railbob
  23. PeterM67, If I were you I’d send it straight back for two reasons, one it lets them know about QC issues and secondly if you botched the repair it’s on you and not them, so if they stuff up the repair they have to fix or replace. Railbob
  24. I’m a happy bunny, just ordered a DCC fitted Trigo and some other things, hopefully I’ll get it soon. Railbob
  25. Skelton, Could the bogie locating pin be out of alignment or bent? In your photos it looks like the coach has been lifted off the bogie and if the locating pin is not correct then that could explain the lopsided situation. Railbob
