Car only powered when placed on track

Hi, we have a Scalextric Digital Lamborghini Aventador and Bugatti Veyron set. Bugatti works perfectly on the track so is working. The Lamborghini motor only works for less than a second when the brushes first make contact with the track. It then stops but does the same if picked up again and placed back on the track (if you wait a second or two but doesn't work if placed immediately back on the track). We have tried different controllers and different lanes on the track. Brushes are new and guide plates are in good order and new. Is this likely a mechanical issue or an issue with the chip or an issue with registering the other controlled to this specific car?

Thanks for any help!

A small jump when placing a digital car on the track is normal.

If it isn't moving though it is a loose wire in the car 90% of the time.

Open it up and give it a thorough look. Make sure you remove the braid plate and check the contacts on the guide.

If all seems in order and it still mis-behaves use a 9 volt battery and see if the motor spins by applying power directly to the motor and then on the braids.

If the motor spins with direct power but not the braids the chip is damaged.

You can try for a replacement or contact GregK on slotracer.online or slotform to have the chip fixed.

Round guide plates need to be installed properly.

From the back forward to slide back into the notch.

Pulling a car backwards will move round plate forward and needs then to be corrected.

Then brushes need adjusting to make good contact with the rails.

However Important poster information missing is DID LAM EVER WORK OK ?

Following answer is based on above being NO

Can duplicate quick spin here even without controller being turned on due to power built up on digital track from 1 operating car.

First re-id your Lam to its controller id.

If that does not work, id Lam to Bug id.

If that works ,  then re id Lam controller to its  correct id again and Lam back to its correct id.

If that does not work , check if Lam controller needs fresh batteries.

If Lam controller still does not work, change Bug controller Id to Lam id to check powerbase.

If Bug controller works as Lam , then change it back to Bug and replace Lam controller.
