AJ Gurney
I have a set with the Arc One power supply. I want to build some cars using Falcon motors I have left over from my commercial track racing days. I don't know how much amperage or voltage the power supply provides so I'm concerned that these motors might be too much for it.
gorp
Just guessing not enough power is available. Is there not info on the powerpack itself ?Did the commercial track run on low amps for only homeset cars with high ohm controllers withhout brakes ? You will probably have to toss the arc one, controllers and powerpackand rewire track for more amps and low ohm controllers with brakesorput the falcons back on the shelf. AJ Gurney
I guess the controllers that came with the set are high resistance. Any idea how high?
Andy P.
You can use the "brake mod" to use whatever controllers and power base you want:https://www.scalextric.com/uk-en/forum/post/view/topic_id/7984/?p=
gorp
Commented on under controllers.Appears have to answer basicly the same question by the original poster on this subforum.
AJ Gurney
I looked at the power base and it said 15V and 1.2A. I got out an old car and ran it on a power supply and it drew a maximum of about 0.55A at approximately 9.5V. Does the power base provide 1.2A for each lane or is that the maximum for both? Andy P.
It is wired to to just split the power across the two. IN some cases when one car deslots the other might get more power.Again, if you are worried about getting smooth, constant power and being able to regularly control how the track is powered then use the "brake mod" and replace the controllers and powerbase.ARC ONE is the entry level ARC product intended to be used for entertainment (toy) by people who cannot vote or be called up for military service (in most countries).ARC AIR and ARC PRO are aimed at more "enthusiast" levels of enjoyment...
